All four NBC television affiliates in Iowa announced this week that they will not carry this weekend's broadcast of "Saturday Night Live," slated to be hosted by Democratic presidential candidate Al Sharpton.

Tim Gardner, director of creative services at WHO-TV in Des Moines, said station lawyers determined that airing the 90-minute show would trigger federal "equal time" provisions - meaning the stations would have to offer an equal amount of time to the other candidates.

SNL needs to be dropped anyway, it hasn't been funny in 10 years at least. Not since Miller and the rest of the gang left.

Oh, they still have their moments. Rare moments.

The entire 2000 Presidential Debate series belongs in the TV Hall of Fame. Even if there were a few digs at our guy, too.

I knew it was going to be good when I first saw "Al Gore" in all that pancake makeup. And then... "Strategery."

Will we see Rev. Al as "The Church Lady"? Or could he be . . . Satan?

"Their lawyers must not have finished law school because NBC went through all sorts of research to make sure that it was appropriate," Sharpton campaign manager Charles Halloran said of the Iowa TV stations.

Two thoughts: First, we all now how well NBCCBSABCCNN, etc. perform research when it comes down to supporting one of their own. Second, where was this guy when Ahhnolld was being black'd out in California for the same reason???
