HOWARD DEAN'S major asset as a candidate -- his trenchant criticism of President Bush -- is undercut by his continued foot-dragging on the 145 boxes of gubernatorial documents he has had sealed for 10 years in Vermont.
While all of the Democratic presidential candidates criticize Bush -- John Kerry, Richard Gephardt, and Dennis Kucinich with notable vehemence -- none has equaled Dean's ability to score points with Democratic voters by attacking Bush on the war in Iraq, tax cuts for the rich, and a range of other issues.

When the editors of the Boston Globe think a Democrat is "unseemly", that Democrat ought to rethink his behavior.
That said, I don't get the flap about Dean's gubernatorial records. So he won't release them, big deal. For those looking to get their shots in during the election, I guarantee that Dean himself will provide the electorate with more than information to make an informed decision on his stances. I just don't think some "smoking gun" memo from eight years ago matters all that much when a real person is standing in front of the electorate calling for withdrawal of our troops from combat.

Dean should release his records for his stint as an abortionist for Planned Parent hood to answer:
1. How many unborn children did he murder as an abortionist?
2. How many of the abortions he peformed violated state parental consent laws?
3. Did he enjoy aborting all of those children?
4. How many partial birth abortions did he conduct?

( Please support how-odd? dean in the primaries. That just might get us 4 more senate seats!)

You're right. Dean has plenty of faults out in the open.

I think Dean is downright scary, but where is your source that he performed abortions?I read that he worked at Planned Parenthood, but didn't find that information.

HOWARD DEAN
"Ah, but the strawberries! That's where I had them. I knew George Bush was involved! They laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, and with geometric logic, that a duplicate key to the Vermont govenors wardroom icebox did exist! And I'd have produced that key if they hadn't pulled Vermont out of action with that queers getting marriage or whatever thing! I-I-I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow Democrat and.......and.....uh.... (shifts his eyes around rapidly)
Naturally, I can only cover these things from memory if I've left anything out, why, just ask me specific questions and I'll be glad to answer them...one-by-one.. Except I won't be releasing any of my records from when I was Govenor of Vermont!"(Dean removes the steel balls from his pocket and he spins them in his palm insistently as he speaks.)

I don't think it's so much that people want to find a smoking gun but I know I am personally tired of the utter hypocrisy of the left nuts on issue after issue. And with Howie screaming "secrecy"! of Bush, then refusing to open his own records, just takes the cake.
But what can one expect from a bunch of lying communists?

(There is nothing Democratic about the Democrat party.)

Chris Matthews conveniently changed to focus on allowing us to see the energy policy papers instead of the fact Bush had allowed access to his papers.Bait and switch!

".. and Dean will lose traction on the issue if he allows the impression to take hold that he, like Bush, believes that a great deal of information should be available to the governors but not the governed. Interesting that the Globe would say this. I read somewhere here on FR that Bush's gov. records are NOT sealed.
