HARRISON, Ark. (AP) - A lawyer who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge filed by Whitewater prosecutors died Thursday when the small plane he was piloting crashed while trying to land at an airport, officials said.
John Haley, 72, who was once the personal lawyer of former Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker, had recently joined a new law firm. A partner, Peter B. Heister, confirmed Haley's death.
One passenger, Farish Kincaid, 70, also was killed in the crash. Authorities said the men, both from the Little Rock area, apparently were due at a business meeting in Harrison.
Haley and Tucker were accused in 1995 of setting up a sham bankruptcy to hide profits from a business deal. Haley pleaded guilty and was fined and ordered to pay restitution.
Tucker pleaded guilty in the case, and was also convicted in a separate trial on fraud charges involving James and Susan McDougal, the partners of President Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Whitewater land deal. Tucker was sentenced to probation and home detention.
The Clintons were never charged in connection with Whitewater.
Haley's Bonanza single-engine, two-seat aircraft crashed in a ravine about 300 yards south of the Boone County Airport in northwestern Arkansas, Sheriff Danny Hickman said.
The National Transportation Safety Board planned an investigation.

"Sometimes a plane crash is just a plane crash regardless of who is in the plane."Thank You for some sanity.

I didn't know that, doug....why would anyone want to be around the Clintons...they must all just laugh off the "mysterious" deaths.....not to mention the Arkansas flu.

"But this isn't tin foil hat, IMHO...just what do you think happens when you cross the mafia? From what we know of the Clintons and their lack of morals, are they any different as far as what they're capable of if they're crossed?"
People like them are patient. In the end - they find the right time and the right place.

Read somewhere that Clark might possibly choose "Ole Crusty" to be his running mate.
Should they win ,God Forbid, Clark would be in a bad dangerous place.
More dangerous than walking around with a gasoline overcoat with a pocket full of matches......

None of my close friends or co-workers has ever died in a plane crash......compare that to the many who have died that way if they've been co-workers of the Klintoons.

And Hitlery was conveniently in Baghdad at the time, yes? Well, here's a RYDER truck seen in the vicinity:
Plus, more importantly, Elvis' middle name was misspelled on his gravestone!

Thanks.
PS. Hope the snow in your area of PA doesn't obscure any evidence that will help catch and convict whoever murdered the federal prosecutor.

Who in their right mind would pick her to be VP??
Being a crash test dummy would be safer than have Crusty as your VP

Two Killed in Plane Crash Near Harrison AP from Kait8 - Jonesboro, AR
HARRISON, AR - The two people who were killed in a plane crash at Harrison this morning were identified as 72-year-old John Haley of Little Rock and 70-year-old Farish Kincaid of North Little Rock.
Boone County Sheriff Danny Hickman says the single-engine Bonana plane, believed belonging to Haley and piloted by him, had its landing gear down when it approached the Boone County Airport.
The plane, a two-seater, ended up in a ravine about 300 yards south of the airport after it attempted to land about 10 a.m.
The sheriff said the plane was destroyed and federal investigators would be on the scene tomorrow to try to determine the cause of the accident. Authorities believe the two men were on a business trip to Harrison.
City parks employees, working on a softball complex about a quarter-mile from the airport on the city's north side, said the airplane was dumping fuel before it made an attempt to land.
The parks workers said they could smell the fuel as it dropped around them.
Because of the crash, a plane bringing Lieutenant Governor Win Rockefeller to Harrison for a dedication ceremony at a post office and VFW park in Holiday Island didn't land. Rockefeller spokesman Steve Brawner says the plane turned around and Rockefeller returned to Little Rock.
Note: AP's twin seat Bonana is known elsewhere as a Beechcraft Bonanza.

Do you use Reynolds or Alcoa Aluminum?

Haley's Bonanza single-engine, two-seat aircraft Gotta LOVE the brain dead press. The Bonanza is 50 years old and the press still doesn't know it seats 5/6. Waytogo, press stupes!
Also, several cases of Hillary's Rose Law Firm billing records, reported lost in 1994, were recovered from the wreckage...
