[history]
Sandra Jolly said her 6-year-old son's Christmas was spoiled when his teacher told the first-grade class Monday that "Santa Claus is make-believe."
"He had this sad, lost puppy dog look on his face. This unhappy, empty look," Jolly said. "He said his teacher informed the entire class that Santa is make-believe."

It was incivil, uncalled for, uncouth, and destroyed any valid points you've made...which haven't been any.
Do you have any children ?
And though it hasn't been said yet, most parents don't pretend that ALL Christmas presents come from Santa anyway.

Yes, you've been rather nasty and when Howlin used sarcasm, you jumped down her throat.
Are you older than 20?
To: Lurker
That's usually a sure sign they pull the "D" lever...

When I saw Santa in the Thanksgiving Day parade I knew it was an imposter. Most telling was the outfit. Some kind of Scandanavian 'Heidi" suit rather than the normal red one. I began to wonder where he kept the twelve-foot horn and box of Ricolla throat losanges.
Suspenders instead of the black vinyl belt. Off-white leather gloves instead of white cotton. A beard that looked real but was many shades darker than "white". And the sleigh, some kind of weird sea-shell thing.

My daughter ALWAYS got a note from Santa, thanking her for the " treat", left beside the empty glass and plate. :-)

I think some of the nay-sayers are on their second bottle, period.
Put the eggnog down, sir, and slowly back away...

You're being whipsawed and losing on EVERY post. Wakeup and smell your doom. LOL

WOW...we really ARE so alike; I had a wee cake for the baby Jesus too. LOL

I implied that because Howlin has, for the past hour, refused to provide specific examples of accusations she made toward me. This is most likely because they are groundless and completely without merit. You mean you're upset because I wouldn't answer your stupid question about cheating on your wife?
Well, here's your answer: you've already stated that you WILL lie when it suits you -- even though it makes you "sad" to do so -- so for all I know you may very well be an adulterer and you may very well have lied to your wife about having an affair, because it's apparent that you will use lies when it suits you -- situational ethics, you know.

I ADORE it when folks go crazy with the decorations and lights...
My favorites are still the houses with classy and simple lighting or a nativity scene, but when people get really gaudy it's so FUN :-)

There are trolls, disruptors, DU escapees, and all manner of fringers here now. There should be some kind of entrance exam to join FR, to make certain that members really ARE Conservatives, but there isn't. :-(

Their THIRD, at least.

Well, I don't know about up there, but down here, big time lights are making a HUGE comeback! I was at Target today and they have all kinds of lights I've never seen people -- and some of them are very pretty.......pearl ones!

Which goes to show he isn't even reading Howlin's posts, because she has said she was a grandma about a hundred times. : ) I didn't remember, but I figured it out all by myself.

Oliver Cromwell did, 100s of years before a " grinch " was ever imagined. Now, it appears that some here, still wish to destroy it.

I concur with what you said. The question becomes, should Ms. Crodner be fired for her actions as Sandra Jolly has demanded?I don't think she should be fired, but maybe she shouldn't teach 1st graders. However, it wasn't my child whose beliefs were shattered either. I did read the articles from the Sun Sentinel and it could be that the mom is just plain tired from the two jobs and working hard to provide her child a decent christmas and she's just still ticked off at the carelessness or maybe even callousness of the teacher.
I can emphathize with her though since I remember watching my mom get desperate at christmas time when there was no money. Unless we've been in her shoes we really don't know what her frustration is.
To: Luis Gonzalez
Luis, Santa is also great with adults too and since is isn't spending time with kids, I think he's off the pedophile hook. :-)
