[history]
Sandra Jolly said her 6-year-old son's Christmas was spoiled when his teacher told the first-grade class Monday that "Santa Claus is make-believe."
"He had this sad, lost puppy dog look on his face. This unhappy, empty look," Jolly said. "He said his teacher informed the entire class that Santa is make-believe."

"Well, I have seen the light; first thing in the morning at Little Gym, I shall inform all of them that their parents are liars and that there is no such thing as Santa Claus; leaving aside the fact that they only know him as "Ho Ho" at this stage, I feel it's my duty as a good, conservative grandmother to tell them the truth right now so they won't waste one more minute of their young lives under the misconception that somebody is going to bring them gifts."
Hmmmm...who made you "see the light"? I never suggested that anyone do what you've said here, so you COULDN'T be talking about me.
Whatever you're taking, up the dosage.
p.s. Please provide an example of how I twisted someone's words around. That's all I want for Christmas.

"For all of you sourpusses out there, just shut up, leave the rest of us to celebrate as we wish, don't destroy others' children/grandchildrens' Christmas, and keep or don't keep Christmas as you wish."
Kinda hateful. Is that the "Christmas Spirit" I've heard so much about?

As well as doing an outstanding job with name-calling and making groundless accusations that he refuses to support when pressed! ROFLMAO! FYI -- Howlin is a SHE not a he. How do you like getting whipped by a woman? Don't answer, you're weird enough.
Furthermore, Howlin is NOT a liar. You are.

You lose!
Listen up ... implying that someone, whom you don't agree with, is on some kind of drugs and/or drunk, is what people do who can't debate, are unable to reason, and who really have little, if anything, to say. Just because you arrogantly assume that you are correct/someone else isn't, doesn't make it so.
And it would appear that the first part of your nic is all that you're really interested in; to whit ... " flaming ".
A jolly Ho, Ho, Ho to you, you Libertarian, you. LOL
To: dfwgator
Like that really works! For about 2 seconds. Some of you people are just old bitter grown ups without a bit of childhood imagination or joy left!

Those who, like you, tend to be the fringe of the fringe. You can always spot the " disaffected " by their
NASTY posts. You are a prime example.
Do you have any children ?
To: FLAMING DEATH
That's all I want for Christmas. And exactly who is it that you think will be delivering your little "want" there?
I believe you are one of those "don't do as I do, do as I say" types; you don't believe in Santa, but you're asking for gifts.

This falls under the catagory of better left up to the parents. It is their place to decide if they want to do the Santa thing or not. This teacher took that choice away from many of these parents. I would be mad simply because I no longer had a choice in this matter with my child. For some this is a really big deal.
To: Hodar
your not a parent are you. Do you remember the story of don Quiote? I used to have your perspective then I realized that sometimes you let the don quiotes of the world ride off on adventures and not say.... Hey that is a windmill" It hurts no childs trust to allow that myth into thier lives no more than superman or indiana jones is in yours.
To: onyx
There's a nasty joke in there somewhere, but I'm sure we'd be damned to hell by the rightous on this thread if we even discussed it.

I think you owe some of us an apology. Just because we let our children believe in Santa does not make us still mental children. Just exaclty what does that mean? I think you just bit off a bit more than you should have. I think that was a Christmas insult!
To: FLAMING DEATH
" Hateful " ? Go read your own posts to see HATEFUL.
Are you not a Christian ? If you are, then what's with the " Christmas Spirit " stuff you wrote ?
Oh yes, and dear, I was actually paraphrasing something Scrooge said in " A CHRISTMAS CAROL ". It might behove you to be a tad more literate...i.e. read more. LOL

I didn't imply that because I don't agree. I implied that because Howlin has, for the past hour, refused to provide specific examples of accusations she made toward me. This is most likely because they are groundless and completely without merit.
Maybe the "up the dosage" comment was too much, but I couldn't resist.

Conservatives do not summarily rip down culture and tradition because of a few ranting self important pseudo intellectuals.

When was I nasty?
Smart-alecky, yes, as my sarcasm gets away from me sometimes. Nasty? No.

Those could be the ones, sure, we never did get a really good look LOL
Forget just bold-facing lying, if you want to be truly evil you can get CREATIVE... I once wrote "Thank you for the raisin!" on a spot of paper no bigger than a pencil eraser ;-)
My kids are 10 and 11 now and they giggle about our old Borrowers... they also seem to truly recognize and appreciate the lengths we went through to create wonder and magic and fun for them :-)
