Helvey Outed as a Liberal Democrat Supported by Liberal Democrats Outing a GOP imposter Kernersville News

Democrat in G.O.P. Clothing?
Winston-Salem, NC - On Monday, Republican Congressional candidate Ed Powell criticized Jay Helvey for having Erskine Bowles's Finance Committee Chairman, Scott Livengood, as the chairman of the Helvey for Congress campaign.
"This is proof-positive of what i suspected all along: Winston- Salem's downtown Democrats aretrying to hijack the Republican Primary with their man, Jay Helvey," Powell said. "It is beyond hypocritical for Helvey to praise Congressman Burr on the campaign trail and then have Erkine Bowles's biggest supporter in the Fifth District as his campaign chairman."
Livengood's history with Erskine Bowles is a long one. Livengood contributed $2,000 to Bowles effort to defeat Elizabeth Dole in 2002, and after Bowles lost, Livengood placed Erskine Bowles on the Board of Directors of Krispy Kreme. Prior to joining the Helvey team, Livengood had no record of involvement with Republican candidates in North Carolina.
"I am not going to stand back and watch the Liberal Democrats and pretend Republicans try to steal the Fifth District Congressional District," Powell added. "They know they can't win the race with a Democrat so they have to try to steal it with Helvey. I am calling on all the good Republicans across this District to stand up with me and keep Helvey and the Democrats from Stealing this election."

Welcome aboard!

That's more like it.

trueconservative7 a newbie? Maybe. Or perhaps this is his third FR name in the past three months.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that a series of trolls have joined up for the sole purpose of attacking Jay Helvey.

Johnny Z,
I am not this troll person, and love your maturity level with the troll pics, etc...nice touch. Jay Helvey's contributions this year to Bush mean nothing. I wish that you'd check how much money he has contributed to any Republican, at any level, before this election came up. He hasn't been to one convention, or any Republican meeting, be it local or statewide, until his decision to run in this election. Of course he has to justify his background somehow...$ being the only way. HE HAS NO RECORD WHATSOEVER of service to the Republican Party. I also hear that he has Junior Johnson, the stockcar legend, taking him around the district in Wilkes and Yadkin County. Let me make it known, if it's not already, that Junior Johnson starred in TV commercials for Erskine Bowles in his 1st Senate run and was one of his most avid supporters in the public and at the grassroots level. Johnson is a well-known gigantic Democrat! Johnson said, and I quote, "I'm not letting Dole put this guy into the wall" regarding Elizabeth Dole's run against Bowles for the Senate. Helvey's ties to the Democratic Party are undeniable. Even from a guy who calls everyone "troll" that dares bash his beloved Helvey. Powell and Robinson are the only 2 people that should be heavily considered in this race. Although, I think it's more of a "Anybody But Helvey" situation.

I don't get the "fifth column" change...please explain.
