As you probably know, Article 48 of the Constitution of the Weimar Republic allowed that German Constitution to be ignored if the Head of State declared a state of emergency. Hitler came to power, and (very Constitutionally) declared the Constitution to be a dead letter.
It could happen here.

It could happen here.First, 9/11 did happen here. Second, there's no need to negate the Constitution if you have willing judges "redefine" as the socialists see fit. Third, especially in time of war, the judiciary owes special deference to the legislature, which in turn owes special deference to the executive. Can usurpation occur? Sure. But our rights, including our 2nd Amendment rights, are only secured, ultimately, by our willingness to exercise them.
