400lb Beating "Victim" Used Racist Slur

Watching the media coverage of Cincinnati man Nathaniel Jones being beaten by police as he tries to attack them and get away, I noticed that none of the shows mentioned the fact that Jones used a racial slur before charging one of the officers.

As he approached them, Jones shouted out something like "Leave me alone white boy."

I don't have any doubt that if the officers had made a racial remark to Jones, they'd be railroaded out of town immediately.

Did anyone else notice Jones' slur? I don't have the exact quote since I don't have a recording of it.

It's considered a racial slur for a white person to call a black man "boy." Likewise, if you had any experience in an urban area, you'd know that white boy is a real derrogatory term.

It's not a "racial slur" when a black person uses it. By definition, only white people who are not Democrats can be racists, so only white people who are not Democrats can be possibly be guilty of using a "racial slur".

It is by all means a racial slur on the same level as the racial slur nigger. Whenever, anyone uses the term white boy in my presence, I let them know it is unacceptable to me.

Yep, I watched the video. The autopsy showed that he did not die due to the blows from the police. The representatives of the black community in Cincinnati of course are calling for the police to quit attacking black men .. but the spokesperson didn't call for the men in the community to quit taking drugs (combination of cocaine and PCP was found in the man's body) or to stop resisting arrest and attacking police officers.

Where do you live? I guess it's sort of like nigger. If a black person says it to another black person, people don't mind. If a white person calls another one a white boy, that's mostly just mildly derrogatory. But if a person of the opposite race uses either term, it is offensive.

But neither term is acceptable in polite company.

According to CNN.com (ok, yeah, I read it occasionally) , the perp used the terms "white boy", and "redneck". Thats racial enough. And look at the way the NAACP wants this thing investigated. The local chapter is treating this like some kind of police brutality case. Jesse Jackson is already involved. The guy had PCP and coke in his system, not to mention the fact that he was twice the size of the officers and wouldn't attacking them! What else were they supposed to do? Just sit there and take it???

The police were not out of control, IMHO, in the video. This should blow over unless Jesse gets involved. That would never happen.

Actually, I think everyone is a bit too over-sensitive on this issue. The poster is correct, if a Racial epitate was said to Jones the liberal community would be in an uproar.

However, if someone calls me a name or uses a Racial slur that is directed at me, "Big Friggin' Deal." It puts their stupidity on display, not mine. I wasn't hurt and would not start crying like a big baby. I am sick and tired of everyone worrying about hurting someone's over-sensitive inner-self or whatever. We are becoming a nation of cry-babies.

I've seen two versions of the footage: long and short. In the short version most often played by the media, all you see is the cops beating the man.

In the long version the footage picks up basically at the beginning and the perp hauls off and knocks the cr*p out of one of the cops.
