I didn't watch the movie but I happened upon the start of the C-Span discussion as they were showing some clips from the movie.
The 1-2 minutes they showed made my blood boil.
Have a jellybean.......wtf?

This clip makes it seem it was pure smarmyness that put him where he is.

Carl Anthony just disavowed the scene that was shown to be false by historians.
Boy, I bet he wishes he was on Barbra Striesand's lap right now.

He'd be perfect producing a third grade school play.. maybe..
He's definitely the proximate cause of this mess...

Thanks for the report, y'all (ain't got no cable!) I'm rather surprised, having expected a kinda Siskel & Ebert milquetoast discussion/love fest sympathetic to the, ahem, "good intentions" of the "artistes"! Perhaps CBS got semi wise and realized it had a turkey and now they're trying to earn back our trust.

I caught the last 15 minutes of this panel discussion. Is there a transcript on the Web somewhere?

I find it amusing that Hilary Rosen was the former head of the RIAA, and the chief promoter of "downloading is stealing".
She apparently has the liberal elitist mentality in spades:
We Democrats just want to help the little guy by confiscatory taxation. We bureaucrats have our hearts in the right place, so we can determine where your tax dollars are best spent. However, if the little guy crosses her bread and butter by "stealing" music that her monopolist employers refuse to sell at a reasonable price and in a convenient format, he's gonna get a dry rhino horn up the keester. ;-)

Kalb asks why we should be so upset with this portrayal of Reagan.
Mr. Kalb- here's my answer...
The reason Americans are so upset with this production is not the content of the movie. The reason is that the movie's intent is so clearly in the realm of propaganda.

Do we know what the final ratings were for the Reagan movie? How many eyeballs did Showtime draw?
