There are, sickeningly enough, people who actively seek out those with HIV so that they can get it too.
They're called 'bug chasers' and seek the HIV infection as a status symbol.
So I've concluded that there's quite a bit of psychosis in this whole deal as well..

I've read that the advertising is a crock, that they just use the money to party and make funny posters that never, ever suggest that abstinence might be an option.
It used to be that people were expected to control their sexual urges, not the other way around. I know, I know it didn't always work that way, but at least it was a reasonable expectation.

Has it ever occurred to these people that stopping the perverted behavior that leads to the the disease might just be the answer to the problem? You fail to understand that the founding fathers gave them a contstituional right to bareback and bug chase. Anything that interfers with that right, has to be dealt with by the federal government.

Frankly, in my worst moments I sometimes wish that AIDS were caused by a lack of humour!

Thanks, Darksheare.
I've heard your theory on AIDS, also. It is sickening. Even worse are the people who know they have AIDS and are actively seeking out people who don't have this hidious disease yet.

in my worst moments I sometimes wish that AIDS were caused by a lack of humour! It would nearly wipe out the populations of Germany and France.

Remember reading some deplorable article somewhere that wove back and forth between being disgusted at such behavior, and being ecstatic over it.
I felt like washing my hands after reading the article.

Not to worry, people.
Gay marriage is going to solve this problem. All the horny little stool-pushers are going to pair up, march in lockstep down the isles, and settle down to respectable monogamy for the rest of their lives.
Right?

Notice how they NEVER give the number of infections of heterosexuals in the same time frame for the same time period. Can someone help me find the comparable statistic?

Xena, Phil McCracken and Holden Magroin remind me of the two Irish queers - George Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzgeorge. They were a coupla Gaelics........FRegards

A long time ago people stayed in the closet. Homo behavior was considered perverted. Somehow this behavior became accepted.
AIDS and syphillis are STD's. But there is no stigma any longer. What happened?

Notice how they NEVER give the number of infections of heterosexuals in the same time frame for the same time period. Can someone help me find the comparable statistic? First, I can give you the exact figures for monogamous heterosexauals. The rate is 0%.
As for the others, the reason the figures are not given is because they are, in the CDC's words, insignificant.
The CDC said the infection rate among heterosexuals and intravenous drug users did not change significantly.
