why, all of a sudden, are these thugs wearing uniforms of any kind?

Fear of Gitmo? If they are in uniform when captured they are POW's and have rights. If they are not in uniform they have no rights.

They are wearing BLACK outfilts to blend into the surroundings. These are NOT military uniforms.

During Saddam's rule they spent their time beheading women.
