The pro Saddam people, like Hitlery, are going to be portrayed for what they are in the history book. Traitors. Anti-American. Ignorant.

More about how you were right in your post 224.

See article excerpt I posted in my post 334.

"U.S. officials have only sporadically released figures on Iraqi casualties, and wouldn't say whether there has been a deadlier firefight that went unreported."

Shortly after the firefight, four men in a BMW attacked another U.S. convoy in Samarra with automatic rifles, MacDonald said. The soldiers wounded all four men, and found Kalashnikov rifles and grenade launchers in their car.

Smoked some more..

Someone on the other side gambled....and lost big time. I wonder who is calling the shots.. This was a dumb military move on their part.....they took us on in a frontal assault while we had overwhelming firepower on hand. We had M1A1's.... Bradleys.......and 100 men......with air support overhead. This was a Saddam move.

I humbly and wholeheartedly disagree. Saddam never had the stomach for suicidal odds (thought he could take advantage of turmoil in Iran, and when the Iranians proved to be just as tough, he unleashed chemicals; took out Kuwait, then had his army dither until it was ALMOST too late to get out; had his army fold before the 3rd ID and a few good Marines). Sounds like one of his lackeys who paid just a little more attention in Friday Mosque than he did and decided to try to deplete Hell's supply of Reno clones.

"Someone who spent too much time watching movies like "Blackhawk Down", I would surmise."

I understand (I really did read it somewhere) that it was one of Saddam's and Bin Laden's favorite films, giving them the notion that the US CAN be intimidated into pulling out.

They didn't figure on the "New Sheriff in town": GW.

REad the posts totally debunking the notion that the Fedayeen are "legal combattants". I didn't keep track of the post numbers, but there are several -- pointing out specifics. From the very beginning of the war we considered the Fedayeen illegal combattants, they also do NOT fit the description given to legal combattants in the Geneva convention.

It's all posted.

"Hillary is deeply saddened."

Hillary is only deeply saddened that she couldn't turn it into an assassination attempt against herself. I guess our boys weren't taking her word for it that they're all gonna die over there.
