MSNBC headlines them "alleged guerillas" ABC: Iraqis, although the article says they had Fedayeen uniforms.
CBS: parroting ABC
Reuters: Iraqi's and "attackers". They do mention Fedayeen
BBC: "US kills dozens in Iraqi City" ...I kid you not! Calls them "militants"...Like the Pali's I suppose.
archynews: *Saddam's Elite Democratic Guard*....
It'll be interesting to see what the Russian World News Service calls them in tonights broadcast....

When we went into Afghanistan....we treated the Taliban as POWS.....but not the AQ we caught. We have classified this group as terrorists...so they might not get that status.

I may have misread your questions about the two convoys, wondering which had the money. According to Steve Centanni, 4th Infantry Division officials said that the enemies set up a road block for one of the convoys ~ he didn't specify the east or west convoy ~ then attacked the convoy from the roof of nearby buildings. I think Steve said that both convoys responded, so I'm assuming they communicated as soon as the one convoy approached the roadblock, and they both responded to the enemy at roughly the same time.
No matter how fancy the weapons, or pajamas, if you don't have the heart, courage and training, it's a suicide mission against US troops.
Give that hubby of yours a big thanks from Florida.

"(2) Members of other militias and members of other volunteer corps, including those of organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating in or outside their own territory, even if this territory is occupied, provided that such militias or volunteer corps, including such organized resistance movements, fulfil the following conditions: (a) that of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates; (b) that of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance; (c) that of carrying arms openly; (d) that of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war. "

The Fedayeen do NOT fit these criteria. PERIOD.

especially this one: that of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war.

All the other Fedayeen captured to date have been classified as irregulars. Why do the democrats think their status should change now?

BBC: "US kills dozens in Iraqi City" ...I kid you not! Calls them "militants".ROTFL! Mainstream press sides with Saddam and terrorists. They are making it very easy to choose who to trust re. the news, aren't they?

Having Hillary around does tend to ruin Thanksgiving dinner, which would explain the bad mood our troops were in when they got ambushed. Anyways, you've made my day with this story :).
Unfortunately, given the Fedayeen's track record, I'd look for them to get scared off of attacking our guys, and switch to hitting more civilians. Such is the way with cowards.

I think you are exactly right. We have been killing the Iraqi terrorists all along, but weren't reporting it, and now finally we started to report those also. The media enemy plays diry pool. With the old system, they hooped and hollered over the ever expanding list of US dead. Under the new system, they will lament the deaths of Iraqi terrorists with the same amount of enthusiasm as they mourned American deaths. Meanwhile, they will continue to drum for the pull-out of American forces to end the bloodshed. They will attempt to shame America for killing more of the terrorists than they have us.
Nothing is gained by releasing body counts. The media runs both sets of numbers with the worst possible spin because they don't want us to win.

I guess these 46 didn't get the word.Well, we all know that no matter what you do, 10% never get the word. Basic math then tells us there were 460 in that group, so we only have 416 to go!
