So, they could all be caught wearing Tommy Hilfiger jeans and shirts and it would not be considered a uniform?

Heard about this coming home from grocery shopping on my local ABC affiliate - WMAL. The announcer said the US had taken 8 "hostages". I foamed at the mouth and yelled at the radio - -they're "POWs, you s**t for brains!"

feh.....

Yes, but I think this is a branch..led by Saddam's dead little boys....let's see how this plays out.

They weren't soldiers...they were Saddam's internal "police" force used to fill mass graves and keep the tyranny heat on high.

They were used to protect Saddam's interests from an internal uprising...not a uniformed military recognized by the Geneva Convention.

People will argue that it counts. Just like the SS uniform counted. Now whether it should count is quite another story.

The fedayeen is coming out of the woodwork. Maybe we are getting close to their lover, Sadam.

Sounds like that great general. Saddam Hussein, wanted to have a big payday to counter Bush's visit.

Backfired BIGTIME............we'll get him by Jan. 1.

People, the "uniform", "POW" issue is a red herring. The article I read said that some were wearing the "attire" of the Fedayeen. I don't think that constitutes a uniform and they are not a regular army. As I understand it, it just indicated to our troops that they may have been Fedayeen (maybe they were wearing all black, etc) but it has no bearing on POW status, or Geneva Convention rules.

46 dead, 18 wounded, and 8 captured for a total of 72 that didn't get away. How many ambushes, I wonder?

Yes. They have been classifed as irregulars. Sometimes they dress as women. Sometimes they dress as Americans. Sometimes they dress like Ninjas. But they're terrorists and have been classified as such. Hitler, the DNC and ACLU can cry all they want, but the Fedayeen Saddam been classified as irregulars from the beginning of the campaign.

Also, some are saying "8 captured". It's actually 26 captured. 18 were wounded and presumably captured, and 8 were captured unhurt.

That also makes the size of the force (dead + wounded/captured + unhurt/captured) at least 72. Wow! And that doesn't count any who might have gotten away. That was one huge coordinated attack and that's somewhat worrisome. But... it's better that they attack our troops in this way (rather than roadside bombs) because when they fight us in the open like this, these are fights our guys will win.
