A claim that New York Sen. Hillary Clinton ventured beyond Baghdad's security zone on Friday to visit U.S. troops in the combat zone is being challenged by Fox News Channel military reporter Oliver North. North, who returned from Iraq on Thursday, was filling in for nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity when the topic of Sen. Clinton's Iraq trip came up.
"The media tried like the dickens to make the Hillary visit look like . . . a very courageous thing," the former Marine colonel told a caller.
Noting the claim by Sen. Clinton's press aide that she was "on a visit with a military division outside the security zone," North insisted, "Let me tell you something. Nobody, nobody, nobody, goes around Baghdad outside, quote, the security perimeter."
Based on the dubious account of her spokeswoman, Sen. Clinton was being credited with an act of courage by the European press, whose reporters drew comparisons with President Bush.
Saturday's London Times noted, for instance, "Unlike Bush, who never left the heavily secured military compound at Baghdad International Airport or the company of Americans during his two and a half hour visit, Senator Clinton headed out to meet troops, aid workers and Iraqi politicians."
Agence France Press also gave Clinton credit for the supposedly bold gesture, saying, "Unlike the US president, who never left the main military camp at Baghdad airport during his two-and-a-half hour stay, Clinton left the heavily fortified complex around the palace to go and visit troops."

Even if it were true-- why would the terrorists and Baathists target one of their best allies, anyway?

It takes real effort not to cut loose with a string of language unbecoming of a lady when I read about this piece of treasonous trash.

KP and latrine duty, were very popular pastimes while hillary was in Iraq. Even the officers volunteered.

Yea...right. Hitlery left the security zone to go in and tell our troops that America's support for what they are doing is fading.
They can try all they want, but Hitlery's dog don't hunt...and try as you may, sugar coat it as you may, a cow paddy is still a cow paddy.
What Bush did was couragous, coming in to the Baghdad airport a few days after the DHL flight was hit, knowing that he is the king prize for the terrorists. Hitlery is nothing more than one of their chief abettors and they are hoping she somehow can get in office so they can continue their actions like they did under her husband.
But like I already said, that do don't hunt.

Ah, good old London Times and AFP. They'll have a tiny retraction on the "back pages" in a few days. Then they'll run another front page story about the hildabeast saving the planet from alien space invaders, followed by another tiny retraction a few days after that.
One trick ponies.

Do we have any film footage that confirms that Hitlery was past security perimeters? I have not seen any film footage of her scampering about the neighborhoods of Baghdad shaking hands with the locals. I have only seen the forced photo ops with the troops.

Maybe the liberal liars can prove their assertion that the Daring Hillary was outside the security perimeter.
They won't, of course. They'll write about it, however, since they're slavering ideological fanatics.

I have that same problem when I see the Beast or her about her. My dog and I have to leave the room if she is opening her gaping piehole on TV. Her presence is vomit inducing. Poor soldiers having to eat with the Swamp Thing!

The terrorists wouldn't go after Hillary anymore than the NVA went after Jane Fonda.

"The terrorists wouldn't go after Hillary anymore than the NVA went after Jane Fonda."
And this US Attorney General won't go after her
like Nixon's US Attorney General wouldn't go after hanoi jane.

No commander is his right mind would let any senator or congressman or any other high ranking official out and about in an unsecure area.
Too much risk and no commander I ever served under would allow his career to be sent to the garbage dump for a glory grabbing politician.

I see three positives out of this whole thing, grandma:
- Hillary bared it all (her poor sportsmanship in coaching the troops that they could lose, admitting that America is divided against them when she's one of the ringleaders of the division herself, and questioning their leaders both civilian and military).
- She refocussed attention on the challenges our troops are facing (what counterproductive nonsense the left is sending them every day -- as well as the threats the enemy brings them -- or is it the same thing?).
- America got to see a clear difference between Bush's charisma with the troops and her grandstanding.
Just as in Vietnam, we're lucky we have troops who'll fight even when people question their duties. THAT is patriotism.
