This is the reason they don't want folks to carry firearms in national parks.........dangerous to their friggin sand & tree nazi's lives. In this case it was a ATV rider without a permit. Wow what a crime !! Even if this kid was being a smartass. His crime was contempt of wannabe cop.

Sure would be nice if NRA would buy yellowstone etc etc so we could enjoy the wilderness again versus traveling a gazillion miles to read rules, follow rules and having to ask some wannabe if we can walk here or there. That and purchase permits to camp, fish, start a campfire, pitch a tent, fart and belch........not quite what old TR had in mind when he made such for us IMO.

It is pathetic that someone would receive a permanent back injury because he can't produce a $20 recreational use permit.

But I think there might be two sides to this story.

I have lectured my kids that they need to be very careful when going into a glove compartment, or something like that. The LEO's don't know what you're doing. For all they know, you might well be going for a gun.

You ask permission first, and then you move very slowly.

I doubt this kid did that.
