Psalm 145: 10
All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord,
and all Your saints shall bless You!
During this week when our nation focuses on thankfulness, we offer our praises to You for Your faithfulness and for the many blessings You have showered upon us. You have provided for us so magnificently, and we know that You are protecting us as we battle against the forces of evil that seek to destroy us. We are so grateful to live in America, Lord. Help us to truly be one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Thank You for blessing us with a President who loves You and seeks to honor You. Thank You for allowing him to share Thanksgiving with our troops yesterday and for seeing him safely through such a meaningful journey. Now may Your rest and peace be upon him, Lord. Silence his critics who criticize absolutely everything he does. Father, he has asked for our prayers, and he knows that You are the source of his strength. We pray that he would continue to be a mighty witness for You, and that he would lead this nation in a spirit of thankfulness this week and always.
We commit our military men and women to You, Lord, for we are grateful for the sacrifices they are making for their nation. Comfort them, Father, as they move through the holidays while away from family and friends. Protect them as they go about their duties, and help them to rely upon You for all they need.
Lord, though we have strayed far from You as a nation, we pray that You would be merciful to us and bless us, and cause Your face to shine upon us. We need You, Father. Help the Word of God to be honored in this nation, that we may turn our hearts to You. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
AMAZING GRACE Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.Words: John Newton
O Lord, Your grace is, indeed, amazing! Hallowed be thy name!
Father, we thank You for a President with courage and conviction, one who speaks Your name and seeks Your face. Grant him the wisdom for which he prays and keep him subdued to Your will. Watch over him and keep him and his family safe from those who wish him harm.
Lord, bring peace and joy to our military, even as they serve in faraway places and face danger. Let their fight succeed against the evil ones who would deny freedom and life itself to those who disagree with them. Bless the people of Iraq and lead them to rejoice over their new liberty and use it responsibly and with justice for all.
We pray for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones. Wrap Your arms of love around them and let Your peace that passes understanding wash over them.
There are many in our nation who are yet blind to Your glory and Your mercy, O Lord. Lift the scales from their eyes that they may see Your amazing grace and know the great joy of life abundant and the promise of everlasting life. Forgive our nation for turning its back on You and ceasing to follow Your commandments. Thank You for keeping a remnant faithful to You and Your precepts; let that remnant grow in number until we once again are a nation that acknowledges You as our Lord and Master, the God in whom we can, indeed, trust and whom we honor and obey. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
We give heartfelt thanks to You, dear Jesus, for the safety You provided for our President Bush during his Thanksgiving visit with our troops overseas. We have, indeed, been given a great leader, let us not forget. His was not a visit to "gain political points" but to truly thank our troops for the sacrifice they are making. It must grieve him immensely for one loss of life, but during confrontations sacrifices are made. That sacrifice made so that we may continue to live in freedom and peace, here, in our country and elsewhere. ....We must strive to once again bring our Lord back into our minds and hearts. To get to know Him, His laws and to live accordingly. For it is only in getting to know Him, to Love Him that we will someday be blessed to spend eternity with Him.....In Jesus name we pray
