Not sure what happened there, perhaps the backing of the west, allowed this government to overstep it's aythority, like #2 poster, I would like to know who these protesters are.

Shevardnadze sounds like a Daschlesque whiner. The U.S. owes him a rubber-stamped rigged election and presidency for life because he didn't unlease force to slow the collapse of the iron curtain? Sorry, Eddie, your reward was to be the Big Enchilada of the Grand Duchy of Georgia until you screwed it up. And, if you have any regrets about not uunleashing force, just remember what happened to Nicky Ceausescu.

Why does power mean so much to these unrepentant socialists that they just can't let go when their grand schhemes fail? If nothing else, Eddie should look for a professorship on a U.S. campus and gget paid for whining.

I still don't have a handle on this one. I don't think we're going to know if this was a good thing or not for quite some time.

I'm troubled that Soros says that he contributed to the coup, but I suppose he might accidentally do something good once in a while.

Shevardnadze, although toaled of promise, turned out to be another Communist era thug and opportunist. Good riddance to trash - he and his friends have economically raped that country.

Shevardnadze got maneuvered out of office by some back-room shenanigans by George Soros. Check it out.

This is just a little practice for the 2004 election cycle here in the US.

He like Senator Byrd, served beyond his usefulness. He was put down and the world will be a better place.

He did not see the change that was taking place.
