What has flabbergasted me is I found out the other day that like WHITE grape juice they also make WHITE cranberry juice...

White juice are apparently causing a problem, someone alert the ReffRUND Jocksun.

I'm not cooking today, so I made a cranberry coffeecake for breakfast and I'll take the cranberry sauce and pies for dinner.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Warrens (WI) cranberry festival this Fall - 50 cents a pound and picked that morning. I bought 6 or 8 pounds and loved them all!!

I agree. There has to be something Mephistophelianly wicked about a berry that can only grow in bog or fen.

The whole-berry relish is great, but you *have* to use the stuff in the can for a decent post-Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. It slices up just like a great big maroon pickle. Try doing that with whole berries. :D

Cranberry dressing and whole cranberry sauce - bad

Cranberry juice and jellied cranberry sauce - good

Exception to the rule: whole cranberry sauce in a jello mold - good

In Alaska we have 3 different species of wild cranberries...

All with taste variations.....too...

(SECRET- Shuuush)- If people who don't like cranberries taste a cranberry / strawberry mix... they all of a sudden LIKE CRANBERRIES AGAIN....

Not a huge fan of cranberries but there is no contest between canned and fresh. Now cranberry bread is a different story...good stuff.

Oh yes. Cranberries are proof that God loves us. Cranberry sauce, cranberry relish, cranberry syrup over pancakes for breakfast, cranberry compote over pound cake for dessert... Life is good.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

May your turkey be moist, your pie plentiful, view of the game unobstructed and your dishwasher fully operational.

I was with you on points 1 & 2, but you lost me on point 3.

More devastating to me is the fact is that yesterday I found out nobody in the family likes jellied cranberry sauce but me. So I'm going to start eating it right out of the can. Chilled to 5 degress Celsius. Shaken, not stirred.

Eating cranberries is pact with the devil! Americans need to realize that their addiction to cranberries makes the whole world resent them.

Little wonder how you came up with your screen name.

Why, yes, I'll have thirds. And extra cranberries, please.

Slice it? You mean you don't just stuff the whole thing in your mouth? Man, you've been missing the best part of the holiday.

The Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association, located in Wisconsin Rapids, represents approximately 150 Wisconsin cranberry farms. These cranberry farmers grow nearly half of the nation's supply of cranberries and their annual production is worth more than $330 million.

Cranberries were almost unheard of in the UK until fairly recently and they are a huge hit there now because a lot of Brits like the tart taste.
