The Afghan women have a way to go for THEIR total freedom.

The graffiti says, "Women's chastity is in her (sic) veil"

To Truth, Freedom, and the American way.

BAGHDAD, Iraq – The Task Force 1-37 Armor “Bandits” of the Ready First Combat Team recently conducted a transfer-of-authority ceremony at the Jamilla Power Station in the Al-Beida area of Baghdad.
Lt. Col. Garry P. Bishop transferred authority from U.S. control to the Ministry of Electricity. A neighborhood advisory council member, Ayaad Toama (of Al-Beida), was present for the ceremony.
Capt. David Anthony delivered the introductory remarks. Ayaad Toama addressed the audience, “I thank the coalition forces for their continued security and support of this facility; for without them, we would not be here today”.

by Capt. John G. Gibson, 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment
BAGHDAD, IRAQ – On a warm Friday morning in southwestern Baghdad, Iraqi businessmen, workers and Coalition forces gathered to celebrate the hope of a new beginning. They gathered to see the dreams of new beginnings manifested by the opening of the Al Khark Generator Shop in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 24 in the Al Khadrah neighborhood of Baghdad.
The Al Khark project started work on Sept. 1 with funding from both the Coalition and Japanese governments. The privately-owned shop will not only sell generators, it will also repair and restore broken generators. Coalition forces hope this will significantly improve the availability of power to the citizens of Al Khadrah.
The men working in the Al Khark Generator Shop finished construction on the structure but now begin the rebuilding of normalcy of life. Their jobs will provide a much-needed service for the community and also provide steady employment.

Actually, this is the REAL NEWS.

However, (contemporary American) journalism school and network ratings teach the media wonks that REAL NEWS is NOT WHAT SELLS.

They are trying to get through their second mortgages, have a vacation in Bahamas, get junior into Columbia University, what not. They care only about the bottom line in financial and viewing terms--what the human soul thirsts for at it's most base level.

Tragedy. Gore. Splattered Brains. Weeping. Sirens. Fire Trucks. Orphans. Amputees. Bomb Blasts.

Accordingly, CNN and all the rest WILL NOT REPORT WHAT YOU HAVE REPORTED....THEY WILL ONLY REPORT ATTACKS AND BOMBS AND RIOTS, the small iceberg of the larger reality.

Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless you Diogenesis thank you for helping us remember the important things I saw this quote yesterday

The blankets that my family sleeps under every night are not the ones on our beds . . . they're the blankets of a soldier standing a post in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Korea, Cuba (countless other countries) and the services that keep him/her supplied and protected. I thank God for their lives. ~by w_over_w

And it is true for me as well

Regards
RB

I might add, my comments were critical of contemporary American media for ignoring the larger reality, that is we are doing good. I'm thankful for these PHOTOS.
