"There isn't a person who has dedicated more of his life and career to the citizens of Kentucky and I couldn't be more proud of him," he said through his Los Angeles publicist, Stan Rosenfield. Yeah, I always show support for my family through my publicist as well...

From what I've heard from people in the area, is that his positions on the issues may prevent him from winning. I take it he hasn't publicly taken a position on abortion?

He's a Demotraitor-he'll take whatever position he thinks will win---

Good point. Still, unless the Pubs decide to support one candidate, and not allow that open seat to be lost without a shot, Clooney could win easily. Also, if George campaigns for his father, his own anti-Americanism and anti-Bush stances could work against his own father! It will be a good hard race only if the Pubs cooperate to get one winnable candidate.

...Clooney, 69, would be a viable Democratic candidate. Lucas said Clooney was a "fresh face on the political scene"... Right there is one of the big problems with the Democrats today. Between Frank Lautenburg in New Jersey, Walter Mondale in Minnissota, and now Clooney in Kentucky, the Democrats are becoming the party of old white guys.

He says he is opposed to abortion except when the mother is in "danger." Whatever that is supposed to mean...

GOP not about to roll over dead for Clooney Excerpt: "George Clooney is on Thanksgiving break at his L.A. area-home, but expressed support for his father.
"There isn't a person who has dedicated more of his life and career to the citizens of Kentucky and I couldn't be more proud of him," he said through his Los Angeles publicist, Stan Rosenfield."

The Hollyweird crowd hasn't got a clue.

Clooney a 'strong and effective advocate'?? Yeah right. Lucas may be fairly conservative but it comes right down to it, a bad Republican is better than a 'good' Democrat any day of the week. Their loyalties lie with the party.

GOP not about to roll over dead for Clooney "Dead" is what one feels like after sitting through one of Nick's newscasts...
I wonder if he'll use "For those you see, and those you don't see" as his campaign slogan?

RW & Meek -- Yall got this Clooney fellow figured-out --- see right thru him don't ya?
.45MAN, I think you're right: his left-wing-big-mouthed boy will surely hurt the elder Looney.
dansangel --- when the subject is democrat, your writing has taken on quite a tone --- not that I mind -- LOL. It's GOOD.
Meek --- I can *see* e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!

I saw a thread over at DU that say's he's anti-war and a "MODERATE" not a dino like Lucas.
He's toast and they all agree except for 2 people who claim to be from the district just like a poster here from the district seem to think he's God and will win a landslide because he was a freaking newscaster and people liked his sister.
Lucas was a fluke. This seat is ours.
