You're welcome.

Paratroopers in the 1st of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division, nicknamed the Red Devils, pray Monday evening at Camp Mercury near Fallujah, Iraq, before an overnight raid.

That's because I heard there are
NO body doubles, that the whole story was fabricated to throw off the coalition forces. Worked pretty good too I'm sad to say.
Sorry about that folks, I forgot to put NO in that statement.

In the first place, I didn't use the word 'hopefully'.
Then I must ask who are you, the grammar police?
And finally I must ask "why did you exclude 'she hopes'?" If I can hope and he can hope, so can she.
Hopefully, you'll realize what an idiot you appear to be with your silly little post.

Hopefully, someone will tell me what a "pedant" is.

Intell community had not seen the real Saddam for 2 years. Last REAL film of him he was very weak, very old, grey haired, barely could hold the rifle up to fire it for his yearly toast to his public. That was the last time the real Saddam was seen.

Dan Blather interviewed SH last year, didn't he?
To: epluribus_2
uh, the contrary side is: if he is dead, the US would trumpet it, we are motivated to demotivate the 'dead-enders'. Why if he is dead cant the US get confirmation of it?

The CIA has played this really rather stupidly. If either Hussein or Bin Ladin were really alive, why not claim they were dead to force their hand and perhaps themselves into the open? Could it be that the CIA has only one informant? The phoney Pak, Mansoor Ijaz?

Many other adverbs (as interestingly, frankly, clearly, luckily, unfortunately) are similarly used; most are so ordinary as to excite no comment or interest whatsoever. The second sense of hopefully is entirely standard. Clearly you are correct. Hopefully you won't get flamed.

Yo Saddam, ya can run and ya can hide but you will be caught. Salute to our troops efficiency!

This is just a leeeeetle thing...but when I saw 82AD....I thought, I didn't know we had an 82nd ARMORED DIVISION. It's the 82nd AIRBORNE and that is abbreviated ABN or lower case abn. Myself, these days I'm CHAIRBORNE....get it? LOL

Actually it looks to me as if CENTCOM screwed up the abbreviations for Airborne. Wouldn't you know it. Those REMFs. as in ahem...Rear Eschelon MOTHERLESS FELLOW'S...ahem....

Dan Blather interviewed SH last year, didn't he? Dan Rather interviewed someone. Was it Saddam, or the best of his doubles? Intel says it wasn't him. But it did look remarkably like the Saddam we saw running the streets right after the coalition strikes started. Remember? The ones where he was surrounded by the 'cityfolk'?

He was buried in a vault in one of the many hidden underground chambers that had not seen usage lately. There is no activity going on nor was there during the start of the coalition strikes, and his sons were likely the only ones that knew where this bunker is. Maybe with time....
