82 AD CAPTURES FORMER SADDAM HUSSEIN BODYGUARD

AR RAMADI, Iraq – Elements of the 82nd Airborne Division successfully raided a house north of Ar Ramadi as part of ongoing operations in the area to capture individuals involved in anti-coalition activities.

Elements of the 1st Battalion, 16th Mechanized Infantry Regiment, conducted a raid on a house north of Ar Ramadi suspected of insurgent activity. At approximately 3:00am, the unit established a cordon of the area and entered the house, capturing four Iraqi personnel. Brig. Gen. Khalid Arak Hatimy, a former bodyguard of Saddam Hussein, was one of the men captured.

Task Force “All American” will continue to hunt and find former regime loyalists who threaten the safety of Iraqis and coalition forces.

AND it would not surprize me a bit if the tapes were made BY AlArabiya or AlJazz from old files, since they have plenty of them. Want a real Oh-Henry ending to the Iraq campaign? Consider this - the bad guys originally covered up Saddam's death to maintain credibility and fear among the population - especially the shiites and kurds with memories of our past betrayals. This has gone on longer than they could have hoped. But when it is shown convincingly that he is dead and has been for a long time - POOF - the will of the insurgency evaporates and the populace laughs at anything the Baath dead-enders say ever again. The whole thing is finished and even some Al Qaeda start doubting the words of their sponsors. A rightwinger dream? Maybe, but stranger good things have happened. See Bush 2000.

If you factor out "unnamed CIA sources", what reason does anyone have to believe that Saddam, or Osama for that matter, is alive? Occams razor still says they are dirt tenants until proven otherwise.

If you factor out "unnamed CIA sources", you're left with various statements by generals that they're actively looking for Saddam. Unless there's some actual evidence they're dead, like their remains, Occam's razor says the opposite until proven otherwise.

well, if you are a general - you don't take chances. Besides, if the Saddam is Alive myth is comforting the enemy, you want to follow any leads to it's source and dissemination. But O.R. here mean't that an egomaniac who ruled a people for 30 years would not just blink out of sight and mind, starting April 7th, when his aides say they suddenly no longer heard from him as they awaited orders and that the republican guard was left floundering with no command. US military monitored chatter discussing his death. All of the tapes have been of such poor quality that results are generally inconclusive, which would point to overdubbing and noise to cover the seams. They had billions of dollars - someone has a camcorder or at least a decent tape recorder. It does not pass the smell test. And there appear to have been obvious fakes of video of both Saddam and Osama without corroborating sound since their "absence". Why fake it if they still live? The target audience for the myths are poor ignorant bas*&^%s that won't ask detailed questions - who want to believe (like jihadis and democrats). As for the insurgency have NO credibility once Saddam's death is proven, this could be the unravelling of a very large amount of propaganda.
