I just received this information concerning a friend of a friend. Because I don't know this family I am choosing to leave them anonymous, even first names, at this time. However, I feel compelled to post a request for prayers for this family because of their tragic situation and because I know that so many of you will pray for them.
The son from this family was working in Costa Rica and had an auto accident at the airport while returning to the states for Thanksgiving. Because he had a concussion the paramedics would not allow him to get on the plane and insisted he go to the hospital.
While sitting on the back of a truck, a taxi cab at full speed hit them from behind. He has now lost a leg, not regained consciousness, has swelling on the brain, many broken bones and has perhaps lost his vision due to extreme amounts of glass in his eyes. He is in very critical condition.
His parents are now there with him but his fathers emergency visa runs out Friday. His mother has vowed not to return the the U.S. without her child.
The cost of having him medically transferred to the US is over $15,000. They are vigorously seeking solutions through government agencies and his employer.
Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

"Oh, my God" was my reaction, too.
This Thanksgiving I will appreciate the smiling faces of my family around the dinner table more than ever.

Prayers for him and his family.
You mentioned his employer...the employer should have some kind of insurance that covers the costs of returning him to the United States. This Repatriation coverage is usually maintained by those employers doing business outside of the United States.
