California Senate has voted to repeal SB 60! (Drivers' Licenses for Illegals Being REPEALED Now!)
Posted on 11/24/2003 4:34:03 PM PST by ElkGroveDan
The California Senat is now voting on SB 1XXX by Senator Rico Oller to repeal SB 60, the dirvers license of illegal aliens bill.
Reports are that the Democrats have been scared into supporting this. The recall exit polls showed it was the number one issue.

Cedillo (the author of the original bill) has co-authored the repeal bill.

Is this a repeal or a replacement bill?
To: ElkGroveDan
It passed 33-0.
Since it was an urgency clause, it needed 2/3 or 27 votes (it got 33). If the Assembly passes it by at least 2/3 (54 votes) it goes to Arnold and if he signs it is repealed immediately.

Thanks. Now let's see what the hard core ideologues in the assembly will do.
To: ElkGroveDan
I hope this is for real and not some slight of hand to make way for some reformulated way to give illegals licenses.

"Cedillo (the author of the original bill) has co-authored the repeal bill."
Is SB 1XXX a complete rollback/veto of SB60?
To: ElkGroveDan
Well, well, well...
Perhaps this will quash the momentum for similar "licences for illegals" ideas in my home state.
