Christian Group Protests Government Schools' Pro-Islam Propaganda

A group called American Middle-East Christian Association (AMECA) plans to demonstrate Monday against what it calls the Islamic indoctrination of America's public schools. The group said it has learned that an intermediate school in Covina, Calif., is teaching Islam to "impressionable" schoolchildren by urging them to fast during Ramadan.

According to the Christian group, a teacher at Royal Oak Intermediate School sent a note home to parents telling them that Muslims fast from sunup to sundown during the month of Ramadan. The teacher then told parents their children could earn extra credit by choosing to "fast for one, two or three days."

"America's Christian children had better not even utter the name Jesus Christ in public schools without persecution and prosecution by the 'separation of church and state' zealots," AMECA wrote in a press release.

The group said it would "conduct a peaceful educational seminar," a sidewalk protest, on Monday afternoon.

"We will have a number of experts in Islam to share quotes from the Koran in both Arabic and English," the group said.

It noted that the protest, an exercise of the First Amendment, would demonstrate a right lacking in Islamic-controlled nations.

Maybe the teacher noticed that the kids had asses as big as the back of a bus?

As long as you pay the kids to act like muslims.....do they get extra credit for putting cherry bombs in the toilets if they yell "Allah Akbar"?

INTREP - One of the sad barriers to homeschooling is the dual-income family. With both parents working, homeschooling is not an option - yet, while the increased income can be calculated, the permanent damage done to our children and to our society are incalculable!

I wonder if the same teacher will give the kiddies extra credit for singing "Away In A Manger" at Christmas?

And if she did, it's none of her business.

The teacher should be sat down and educated on seperation issues, and point out that the assignment could have her lose her teaching certification in the state. Her misstep allows for a larger issue to be resolved, someone should be working towards this.

What are these simpletons doing protesting? Retain a good law firm, acquire the consent of parents with children in her class to sue the school district, threaten the school district with a lawsuit, and have the teacher fired and blacklisted in the state. Sue the school for $1 plus legal fees if the parents don't want to bankrupt their school district, or if the parents want to bankrupt the school district, sue for college tuition for their children plus legal fees. Most importantly, get a court ruling on this issue. After explaining the can of worms this teacher opened, I think she'll understand her dire predicament. Walking around outside the school in pretest, not much help to anyone, and will rally support around her the teacher in question.

Can you IMAGINE what would happen to a teacher who taught children the "Hail Mary," or "How to say the Rosary," or offered them extra credit if they recited a Rosary, or abstained from meat on Friday? Mel Gibson's latest movie might give you an idea.

I agree that it's a total waste for people to protest. Zap the school with a lawsuit. I don't care if it costs the taxpayers money. Taxpayers will be more interested in who runs the schools, who teaches in them, and what is taught in them if they're zapped once or twice.

Today, Christmas and Nativity scenes are outlawed while Clinton's nominee, U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton, recently approved "Islam: A Simulation" handouts where children learn to "become Muslim, recite the Quran, fast for Ramadan and pray to Allah. See actual handout http://www.blessedcause.org/Indoctrination/ByronCountyShocker.htm

This would be a good place and time to activate a Freeper drive to donate truthful books about certain aspects of Islam to this school, such as Dore Gold's "Hatred's Kingdom", and Kanan Makiya's "Republic of Fear," as well as "The Crisis of Islam," and "What Went Wrong?" by Bernard Lewis. Then we could watch these administrators frantically resisting children knowing the truth.

actually, there are several dual-income families in the homeschool association i belong to... one of my "homeschool idols," Susan Wise Bauer (The Well-Trained Mind) belongs to a dual-income family... it's possible if both parents are truly commited to homeschooling their child(ren)... it does take lots of family cooperation...

Yo Teach, do I get even more extra credit if I make it forty days and forty nights?

(Heck, just saying that would get a kid detention...)

Robert Spencer's "Islam Unveiled" and "Onward Muslim Soldiers"...
...and I bet Stephen Emerson's "American Jihad: The Terrorists Living Among Us"
would cause a total faculty melt-down in today's public schools...
