Morning errrr, afternoon? Almost Evening! To the Finest!
Whiney Mom Moment.
My son's preschool, we raise a little over $100 from a bake sale the kids worked real hard on. We took them to the store last week and helped guide them in picking out food to donate to the town's food pantry.
Today, we loaded the food in wagons and did a walking field trip to the food pantry for them to donate.
MIND YOU, we called last week to let them know we were coming and gave them a reminder call this morning.
The GRUFF man meets us at the door and would not allow us to bring the food in. He handed us milk crates through the door to transfer the food and pass it back to him.
I'm very confused by this. He made us stand in the parking lot with 13 children (which I thought was a little unsafe) and barely said thank you to them.
I'm not 100% sure what the teacher and I were expecting; but we thought the kids would bring the food inside and someone there explain to them what the food pantry was and reinforce the good work they did.

You would think they would be more grateful but to be honest I think they want $$..

I think I'd write a letter to the editor of the paper saying exactly what you did in your post with a copy to the Principle and the head of the food bank.
That was just plain rude!

That Food Pantry place sounds ungrateful. Maybe you all should find another charitable organization to donate to next year.
I'm proud of what your kids did, please tell them I said so. :)

I am sorry that you all were greeted by a GRUFF man when you and the class brought food to the pantry. Know in your hearts that you all have done something wonderful. My Thank You to all. Have recently been involved in collecting food for 9 needy families. I will never know who the families are, won't be the one to deliver the food. But was happy to be a part of it.
