If we truly are bringing smack down on those who attack our troops, I'm all for it, obviously, but we need to be more public about it.

No one should ever be in doubt about the consequences of killing American troops, or any American, for that matter.

Long ago, all people in the western world knew that harming a Roman soldier or citizen would mean not only their death, but probably the death of their entire family and possibly their entire village. The consequence of this policy and others like it were fewer casualties among Roman soldiers and citizens, and centuries of the Pax Romana.

Once upon a time, and not all that long ago, Americans had similar protection throughout the world, but it was squandered by fools and traitors. That treachery must be undone and respect for America restored. The way to do that is to prove by our deeds, and beyond all doubt, that no violent act against any American anywhere in the world shall escape swift and terrible punishment.

Considering its plea to President Bush, I cleaned up and sent the text of my earlier message to president@whitehouse.gov. A purely symbolic act, of course, but all human affairs are guided by symbolism, and sometimes even private acts of symbolism can change the world.

If those cultists believe that their "god" is so weak and capricous that he won't know them if they are touched by pork; then hang the ones we catch publically in lard soaked rags and pass the word all our bullets and bombs are made with pig guts.

Time to stop catrering to a cult that is a THOUSAND times worse than Dave Koresh and the Davidians (and we know what the U.S. gov't did to those people).

I read another story later that said that there were three vehicles in this convoy and that this was the last one and it was hit while the others just took off.

I don't buy it. Any G.I. who was convoying with other vehicles would have noticed if one of them went missing suddenly (especially if they heard shooting), and would'n't have left their buddies in the lurch. Something about this doesn't add up. Frankly, I think that they were out where they weren't supposed to be and were a target of opportunity for the little bastards.

Heartfelt prayers for these two soldiers. But, our American soldiers should always carry guns in Iraq, close at hand, and if anyone approaches them, shoot first and ask questions later. This is breaking my heart! And let's not forget Colonel West - a man who deserves a medal, not a court martial. Sheesh.

I'm wondering just who these guys were. They aren't going to be typical PFCs in a brand new civilian 4X4.

I would suspect they were security for someone important, which might explain why the rest of the convoy took off, since the VIP had to be evac'd to safety.

Whatever happened, I would not doubt that this particular vehicle was targeted. Just like the Blackhawks were targeted a few weeks ago because they had the Maj. General JAG and the CWO and CSM of the JAG in them.

Wrong, I was there and saw the building the bomb landed on.
It was partially destroyed, the bomb landed and spread out from there leaving the building pretty much intact. People do live there, lots of them, and you see ALOT of deformities. Americans KNOW to stay out of Hiroshima on the annivsary of the day the bomb was dropped. I lived in Japan for a year, husband was a Marine. BS on uninhabitale for 200,000 years. Someone needs to be telling the Japanese that.

That makes more sense, but if you were serious about security you would move out in tactical vehicles with guns mounted. Some places in theater it is not unusual to see non-tactical vehicles (NTVs-or SUVs in civilian speak), but in Iraq it is mostly civilian contractors who drive them.

I am angry as well. I will not stop hating them until we Nuke their population centers. We cannot win this war with compassion. We need to KILL them.......

Unknown gunmen shoot up this UNMARKED SUV carrying two US soldiers...

And the teenagers are probably the trainees of the gunmen. I hope our troops find the teens and "encourage" them to talk because then the gunmen will not be unknown much longer. Justice needs to be done for those soldiers families.
