my email to them:
your marketing exec should be fired for even considering airing a lipton tea ad featuring the Dixie Chicks. These bitches are hated by most people in the south and i would suspect that southerners drink more tea per capita than people in the rest of the country, so go ahead and air these commercials and see how you fare with them, if you dare.

Did you notice how the whole commercial is filmed in dim light. Makes it easier to hide Maine's heft.

It's a great ad. If they just shut up and sing I'm fine with them doing that. They seem to be onb that tack now. I don't drink Lipton in general anyway but I would not boycott now. Let's worry more about the hateful actions of Barbra Streisand and George Mellon Soros.

Hi. I am a Lipton Tea drinker. I can't stand the fancy flavored stuff. I am now boycotting their products and will try to buy store-brand or something similar from now on.
I wrote them a fairly long email saying that out of the thousands they could have hired to represent their company, they have chosen this controversial, insolent, and unpatriotic group. I said that this could only mean that Lipton deliberately wants to stick it's finger in the eye of the President and our troops overseas. Well, I said I am also sticking my finger in Lipton's eye and not give it one more penny from my pocket.
Thanks for letting us know about this. I only watch about an hour of TV a week, don't have cable, get most of my news online, and therefore I miss out on a lot of this kind of stuff.
Regards,
HB

I already contacted them on the last go-around with the Bush comments. Lipton does'nt seem to care. The DC are still making big bucks. And so it goes.

The bucks the chicks are making now probably came out of some other liberals pocket. We need to keep the pressure on to make that liberal piece of pie smaller and smaller.

Didn't Lipton enrage people a few years ago with another controversial celebrity endorsement?

BTW, originally CBS didn't seem to care either until they were shown the facts of life.
I liked the episode where Duckman kept repeating the word "prick". That one and the one where he ended up at the old folks home...

Well I sent them a freeping reply ... Hope it helps.
I just wanted management at Lipton to know how "un-american" you are being perceived to pick the "Dixie Chicks" as spokespersons for your product. When a celebrity speaks out against our government on foreign soil, I would think that Corporations would reconsider the intelligence about using these same celebrities as representatives of their products. Personally, as long as there is any affiliation, consider me one more disgruntled "former" Lipton tea drinker.

Thank you for sending a reply to Lipton.
And thank you for sending your sons to Iraq, so that my 8 & 10 year old can sleep in peace.
Words can't express my gratitude to you and your sons.
