For Gay Couples, New Rituals at the Altar

AST week's ruling by the highest court in Massachusetts legalizing gay marriage was perfectly timed in many ways.

It feels like a snowball effect, coming only months after Canada legalized marriage and three years after Vermont allowed civil unions for gay couples. And it comes just in time for same-sex couples to begin planning a June wedding.

It also makes one think that same-sex weddings may soon become nearly as commonplace as the traditional black tie, country club and limousine kind.

But what will this new-yet-old social ritual look like? Will same-sex couples be guided by Emily Post or will men walk down the aisle to "Today I Met the Boy I'm Going to Marry," as David Tutero and Ryan Jurica did last September?

Marcy Blum, a longtime wedding planner in Manhattan, recalled that a decade ago or more, when gay couples celebrated their unions, most of the guests were gay. All straight traditions were thrown out or mocked. "It was like going to the baths when Bette Midler would sing there," she said, adding that the couple wore whatever they well pleased, "heels if they were men. It was a big, fun, campy thing. Now, it's just as serious as a traditional straight wedding."

Will condoms be thrown at the newly wedded gay couple instead of rice?

That's because these "marriages" will have the lifespans of fruitflies and the participants will be back to repeatedly desecrate more altars.

They can call it what they want, but it will never be a marriage.

I guess a "traditional" placement should be put in place, left and right, so the presiding Minister can be aware of whom the ****ee and the ****er is.

Minister: "You may kiss the bride. Which one of you is the bride? Okay -- butch one, you may kiss the effeminate one. I now pronounce you man, er, woman, er ... whichever...and spouse. Whatever!"

Next up...pedophiles will be able to marry their "sweethearts."

Liberals will champion this as an "alternate lifestyle" and will label anyone who disagrees as "pedophobic."

How's that different from heteros like Elizabeth Taylor? Just wondering about your line of reasoning.

Hey! You can't refer to queers like that! They are "gay" people and are good at "fashion" and "food" and are "bubbly"! I've seen them on TV that way! And TV does not lie!

You ARE NOT supposed to refer to queer men "sucking" on other queer mens parts! And you BETTER NOT refer to one queer guy putting that same part up the fecal lined exhaust of another queers guy! No! No! No!

Referring to the physical reality of what queer men do would roll back decades of very hard work by the homosexuals to focus everyones attention on the "emotional" aspect of queers. And away from the gross stuff they do to each other that 98% of the rest of the planet would never do. And before you know it the conversation would be involved in the reality of the subject. And the media says you can't do that!

So remember, queer men are just like all the rest of us~@!

I don't know Plutarch's "line of reasoning", nor do I propose to speak for said person...however, I will answer your postulation...

Elizabeth Taylor married MEN, and she was a WOMAN!

Also, the term "gay marriage" is an abomination and an illegitimate term. I thought the Gay community wanted "marriage"...now there must be "Religious Ceremonies"? A "Civil Service" isn't what they want?

Now all "Religions" must perform like the catcher on the wedding night?

I don't THINK so!

They are wanting to present to normal people that they aren't the flamboyant freaks that they actually are.

I beg to differ.

One person she was married to was my RINO Senator, John Warner. I think it was Michael Jackson she left him for.

Everyone knows there are no GOP men in the U.S. Senate. They have all had their manhood removed.
