This weekend finds Michael Jackson in serious legal peril. He is a man (sic) whose riches and career prove that in America, not even vile weirdos are left behind. Soon the wannabe King of Pop will be forever known as the King of Pedophilia as it appears that he is every bit as guilty as Mumia Abu-Jamal. It is my sincere hope that the singer’s future bizarre interviews will be issued from murderous confines of Pelican Bay penitentiary.

Of course, there are those eager to defend him. They say prosecutors were too zealous and that there was no reason for that many police officers to assault his property. His mother, not surprisingly, has come to his defense by blaming it on racism. In light of her baseless claim, we should consider amending Johnson’s old adage to, “Charges of racism are a scoundrel’s last refuge.” Honestly though, somebody ought to inform his mother that her son is whiter than the average Scandinavian. Meanwhile, public relations executives at Clorox anxiously await the right moment to take advantage of his jailhouse photo and name him “Bleach User of the Year.”

Sadly, even when we try to discuss criminal charges that are as grave as they could be, it is difficult to resist the temptation to make fun of this half-billion dollar laughingstock. However, laughter is the best outcome this serial molester can expect because I’m certain that justice, or at least karma, will soon catch up with him.

As for Santa Barbara’s big operations against him, I laud their efforts. Michael Jackson is clearly a predator of children and we should pray that the authorities have the skill to negotiate the media and legal circuses that the King of Perversion’s lawyers will lay before them like flashy props from a Jackson video.

My contention is that he is now and always will be a pedophile. To me, this was proven through his construction of Neverland Ranch. It, in light of past behavior, is prima facie evidence of pedophilia. The whys and the wherefores of this particular arrest are immaterial. I am convinced that soon more charges will be brought forth by the parents of other pre-pubertal youth. Neverland Ranch was built to meet the conscious sexual needs of a pedophile. His motivation can be summed up in the lyrics from an old song: “‘Won’t you come into my parlor?’ said the spider to the fly.” What better parlor for children that an amusement park accompanied by a zoo?

Apperception tests designed for young children often make use of animals as their subjects. By using photos of animals it is more likely that little boys and girls will project their own personalities or tragedies into their stories and answers. The animal kingdom heightens a child’s interest and empathy. I’m sure this fact was well-known to Jackson who is certainly not a neophyte in establishing bonds with potential prey.

Ask your own youngster, niece or nephew if a merry-go-round, a Ferris wheel, and bumper cars wouldn’t make your home the equivalent of Willie Wonka’s candy factory. I am certain they’d say it would. Jackson is rumored to be near bankruptcy but the sick and illicit nature of his sexuality means no expenditure is too extravagant.

Photos available online depict a ranch that would be the fantasy of any five-year-old who ever dreamed of cowboy boots and a ten-gallon hat. The Figueroa Mountain road is a setting right out of “Bonanza,” and no boy would ever come in for dinner if he could play atop Neverland Hill. It is not merely conjecture to believe Jackson purchased the ranch with knowledge of its prospective allure.

His very image and habits are an attempt to find common ground with the objects of his desire. He shares many an interest with the average child, and reportedly is a devotee of video games– which is rather unusual for a man in his forties. Documents from his 1993 case include details like Jackson watching the movie “The Exorcist” at night with his “friend.” What better way to scare a child into your bed than with one of the most terrifying films of all time? It seems absurd not to think that he selected such a title with this intention in mind.

Along an even more sinister line, he may have regarded the three children he reportedly sired as being the best bait in his tackle box. Offspring provided him with cover along with more opportunities for finding future victims, and these two reasons may have been why this space oddity decided to reproduce to begin with. Clearly, past history would not suggest that he ever had an ardent interest in sexual relationships with women.

Let the man’s words from his ABC interview earlier this year speak for his guilt, “When you say bed you're thinking sexual. It's not sexual, we're going to sleep. I tuck them in. It's very charming, it's very sweet.” He further noted: “Why can't you share your bed? The most loving thing to do, is to share your bed with someone.” Un huh, those sentences would go well with a few doses of Rohypnol and felony charges.

The only good news in all of this is that the prison system will soon gain another sexual deviant, and I don’t think his blockmates will sing along when he tries to “tell ‘em that it’s human nature.”

I generally leave prosecution to DA's, but I'm trying to think of anything Michael Jackson could do that would make him look more like a pedophile, and barring actually committing sodomy on a boy on video, I can't think of much.

Also, as to playing the "race card." I see white people doing it also, in a different way. Whenever someone wants to fake a crime, they say "I saw a black guy do it, about five ten, 160 pounds, wearing loose pants and gangsta clothes. I'm not sure it's fair to call this a "race card." More a "probability card." Somewhat as the investigators focused on white guys for the DC snipers. Statistically they were correct.

Which only goes to show the weakness of basing decisions on statistics.
