Would the civil rights bill as we know it pass with Kennedy as President? Would Afirmative action as we know it have passed? Would there be the Immigration act of 1965? Would 'ol Ted the Swimmer be where he is if his brother survived? I say no.
I also think the country would not be as radically liberal with the "old guard" Democrats like John and Robert Kennedy allowed to live.
Did Ted Kennedy benefit from his brothers' deaths? I say, in the end, he did. did the black civil wrongs industry gain from the deaths of Robert and John? I say they did. After JFK's death, what happened to the political discourse in America? It became much more partisan, and every President since has become a target for those on the opposite side of the political aisle.
The Democrat party of November 21, 1963 is completely different from theDemocrat party of November 22, 2003. A John Kennedy in today's radical socialist Democart party is a Zell Mliier--villified and eventually forced out due to differences in ideology.
Which gets me to my point. If Kennedy was allowed to complete his first term, dodge his scandals, complete a second term, enact more tax cuts, face down some more communists, (I believe the Cuban missils Crisis woried many com-symps in America) approcach the Vietnam Conflict from a different angle, and lead the nation in a more sensible direction socially, who knows what the country would be like? (I'll leave that to you guys) I believe he was murdered in a successful attempt to skew the political landscape in a radical liberal direction--those who were in on it were rewarded with power. On Judgement Day, they will realize they sold their souls, and everything they gained on Earth was all for naught.
My 'education' began in about September or October of 1964. The top guy in the group confessed to running 'The Fair Play for Cuba Committee' in New Orleans. Wheels within wheels . . . . yada yada yada.
