I didn't assume moderators could change the software, but they can pass software related suggestions to the person who can. And if someone offers a suggestion to a moderator, they don't necessarily think that that moderator has the personal means to act on the suggestion, but the moderator is a member of the management, so to speak, and they hope the suggestion will make its way up the chain of command.

It's just a click over to the General Interest Forum for the fluffy stuff. People just need to get used to the idea of seperate forums. Every other forum has them. No different here.

the Michael Jackson case (...) is relevant to what is happening to our judicial system....

Once.

It is only relevant once! How many times do we need the blow-by-blow?

I disagree. It's Jim's site and he's asked you to administer it, but here's my view.

It's not hard to spot conservative news among all the inanities, while those very inane posts you object to add a wonderful variety to our browsing. Don't remove them!

Another fair answer. But that is a whole lot different than "You guys should improve your software before you dare suggest to us how we should post".

Any software changes you desire should be directed to John Robinson. He's already been pinged to this thread, so that is for future reference. Regards

it's hard to put the genie back in the bottle once it's let out ... i come to FR to get caught up on the news mostly, but it is nice to see other off topic news that i might not see otherwise ... i think we might have the posting options backwards... most people post on the news forum because most people are on that forum; maybe instead of making each forum exclusive, let posters be able to view 1 or more forums at a time (news, religion, campaigns, general news) but NOT VetsCoR and RLC Liberty Caucus... i believe that people will be more likely to post under the proper Topic matter while those who don't want to read about music or can switch off the general interest topic option... and so on and so forth

How many times do we need the blow-by-blow?

A poor choice of words when the topic is Michael Jackson.

Sorry, just ask. If we err, we have no problem correcting ourselves. We are people, we make mistakes, and if you have a question, please ask. The best and fastest way to contact us is to use the abuse link on any thread. If you want a response, please leave your screen name, as your abuse reports are anonymous to us. I moved it over to chat based upon the history of the Dixie Chicks. It's back in news now. Thanks for asking.

Not offended at all. We get lots of grief over our wordiness, but we're much more diverse than just Tolkien and Hobbits.

We like the attention. ;-)

I like your idea. In addition, there could be a general interest forum for the 4 or 5 major specific types of general interest news items unrelated to conservatism, such as tabloid, weird, sports, etc.

On the News/Activism side, it would be good to have separate categories for liberal-slanted articles (the so-called 'barf alerts'), regular news items, and excellent conservative pieces.
