Yeah. The good news is that they are no longer investigating and harrassing the following:
White males
Christians
Anti-Abortion Protestors
Smokers
Gun Owners
and Others Who Don't Like Gummint

Stated ALOT better than I could.
Living here in NY state, it's almost a shame that an event in the future as described would come as an extremely rude surprise.
Even AFTER 9/11.
That would/will be a look on one's face that I do not wish to see.

LOSAT, I want one. Got some pretty big and tough woodchucks around here.
A humane kill on woodchucks really requires the HE warhead of Brimstone, the ground-launched version of Hellfire.
I'm watching the race to see who'll have the first successful fire-and-forget tank killer with a 10 KM range. Once that happens, things for tankers changes considerably, and life spans for those in light personnel carriers and wheeled armored vehicles are going to be reduced considerably. At that point, personnel carriers are going to begin to more resemble today's tanks, maybe less the turrets.
We need some dumb, unguided missiles for the same launchers, too. Cheaper.

Lots of people were against the war in VietNam.Actually, lots were against the way it was prosecuted by the at-the-time-Liar-In-Chief, LBJ.
(Seems LBJ also taught Clinton a few things about how to handle politically-damaging people, BTW)
Unfortunately, the real reason for the protests--LBJ/MacNamara's complete disregard for the US military man--was over-ridden by the pure anti-US crowd.
There were, and ARE, such people as "honest" protesters.
For example, in Iraq--rather than suffer continuous guerilla attacks, why doesn't GWB simply order the new MOAB to touch pavement in Tikrit?

Hadn't thought about the Brimstone.
As for the 10k range, haven't they been experimenting with an uprated rocket engine for the Hellfire?
It's 8k range kinda makes things touchy for the AH-64D at times, especially when up against the Tunguska SAM/AAA platform.
*head scratch*
Can't rightly remember if the Hellfire engine upgrade is what I read or not..
Hmm..
Anyway, Yes.
Dumbfire missiles for the same launcher would be nice, a kind of a shoot from the hip deal for it.
Found the need for hipshots once in Artillery, and that specialty now practices hipshots regularly.
Such an ability would be nice with other things.

Wait a minute!!
What the hell size are the woodchucks which need THIS???
The 38 'chucks I have killed over the last 6 years all went down with .22LR, delivered neatly to the head or through the lungs.
Of course, if you can't AIM, then larger weapons are humane.

why doesn't GWB simply order the new MOAB to touch pavement in Tikrit? Because that's not the way to reach the hearts and minds of the Iraqis and other Arabs wo might be inclined to support us. The Russians completely flattened Grozny but it didn't stop their problems in Chechnya. It just made the Chechens thirst for revenge.

I was artillery, we can't aim directly at anything worth a hill of beans!
*chuckle*
Well, not true really.
We have WELL fed woodchucks here, mostly due to stupid envirolaw.
Like: if you kill a rat with a broomhandle, even though the rat is rabid, you go to jail.
One particularly tough SOB rodent took 5 22LR rounds to the head at point blank range, and lived.
He had scar tissue like mad across the top of his skull.
We eventually just blew him up with kerosene vapor.

Interesting rat-technique.
How did you get him to inhale the kerosene vapor and light the match? Offer him a cigarette?

I like the way you think.
Unfortunately the ones you're relying on to do the "meanness" don't have the backbone needed to do it in the first place.

Well, the woodchuck was easy, we just dumped ALOT of aviation grade kero down his hole.
Then we waited a bit while he sat in there and squeaked in anger.
THEN we lit it off.
Rats are harder, since any burrows they ahve in dirt look more like swiss cheese.
Same technique, just alot more preperation work to block off exits.

Interesting :) What happened to make you change?

Well, if things were headed in the direction I worry about, maybe. I'm not convinced they are, I just think we need
to keep our eyes open.
To: MinuteGal
Well, you're right, "stormtroopers" was overboard... I was visualizing the Star Wars guys when I said that... and my description wasn't to disparage lea's, just their anonymity when in battle gear.
As I said, I mostly agree with your post, and I do support law enforcement. What I find a touch alarming is the lack of identity. It would be nice to know their precinct and badge numbers. It would be better PR for the LEO's too.
In the context of this thread, I'm not concerned. But if and when it becomes the hillary/reno squad, it could be a whole different matter.

So you believe that America-hating anarchists and communists have a civil right to smash windows and burn cars while wearing masks? They have a right to demonstrate as long as they commit no crimes. It doesn't get any simpler than that. The government should take care of business. If you feel differently, should they also be investigating all members of the NRA because some people would approve of that behavior?

I merely posted to you so that you knew what I said to him.
I suspect they ignored the last round of rallies by the leftists.
Thanks for the pics, they're proof positive about the intent of the left, and some people WILL NOT ever get it until they see it for themselves.
And even then some will not understand, unfortunately.
Again, thanks for posting the pics to me as well, they need to be seen to be believed.
