The Zapruder film I have seen clearly shows a shot from behind. His head snaps back and to the left from the force of the bullet exitting the front.

I have a question for any freeper out there:

On the day that Desert Storm began in January of 1991, there was a headline in the news of a young man in Texas who found some information in his deceased Uncles attic having to do with JFK's murder.

I remember seeing this (I was in a hotel room in Kona, watching their local news) and wanting to see the followup on it. All they showed was this mid-20's male sitting at a table with allot of mics in front of him, saying that he had inherited his Uncles belongings, and found some important info on the JFK murder, and that he would release it the next day after going thru it all. It was said that it was info no one had released before and pointed to the conspiracy behind it, with the assasins name.

Well, that night Desert Storm began, and I am unable to find anything on that guy, anywhere.

Anyone have info on this?

Frame-by-frame description of the Zapruder film.
Frame # Event
140 The car turns on to Elm street.
145 [Some people interpret the first shot as having been fired at this point]
151-153 [Some people interpret the first shot as having been fired at this point]
154-155 Kennedy turns his head very rapidly from left to right.
158-160 Zapruder jiggled his camera. [Numerous "Ear-witnesses" recall the first shot being about this point, when the car has just turned the corner onto Elm Street]
160 The little girl who is running next to the Car begins to turn to her right.
162 The little girl has stopped running. Kennedy stops waving. Connally turns his head sharply to the right.
??? James Tague is struck by a piece of flying cement while standing under the end of the triple by-pass. [along a straight line, through the oak tree and the School Book Depository window. A mark in the cement along that line revealed traces of lead and antimony, suggesting that the round had lost its copper jacket -- which can happen when striking a tree branch]
167-210 Foliage blocks a School Book Depository sniper's view of Kennedy (with a small break at 186), according to reconstructions (2.3 seconds). Branches had given partial visual cover for some time before that.
187 (1.5 seconds after frame 160) The little girl has stopped and is staring at the SBD. Kennedy starts waving again. Mrs. Kennedy is looking around.
189-197 Zapruder jiggles his camera again.
188-191(190) [House Select Committee suggests that this is the point at which Kennedy was hit. This is the traditionally held time for that the second shot hit him. Many people believe that this shot was a front shot from a smaller weapon than the 6.5 mm Carcano]
200 No one in the car appears hurt. Kennedy is waving to the crowd with his right hand.
200-224 Zapruder's view of Kennedy is blocked by a highway sign. Even during this time, Kennedy's hand can still be seen over the sign.
202 Phillip Willis's photograph showing Zapruder was shot here.
207 Witness Howard Brennan turns abruptly to the right.
210 As Kennedy becomes visible from the foliage, this is the first opportunity that an SBD sniper would have a chance to fire.
220-228 Zapruder jiggles his camera.
223-224 Probable time that Kennedy was first hit. [At this point, the positions of the two men, Kennedy's leaning slightly forward, and the much taller Connally twisted to the right, with his hand in front of him, holding his hat at lower chest level, make it possible for a single bullet to enter Kennedy's back, pass through his lower throat, into Connally's right back, glance downward off a rib, exit under his right nipple, and enter his left thigh coming to rest, drained of energy, just below the skin.]
224 The right front lapel on Connally's suit flips up as the bullet passed through his chest.
225 Kennedy becomes visible to Zapruder again, his right arm is resting on the edge of the car, having just relaxed from waving. Connally shows no obvious effects.
226 Kennedy is clearly raising his right arm. Conally becomes rigid, and changed his expression [The House Select Committee suggests that this is the point at which Connally was hit based on his facial features and body position.]
227 Kennedy's arm jerks off the car, clearly reacting to the throat shot [This is a clear case of "Thorburn's Position", as his body reacts to the spinal damage caused by the hydrostatic shock of the bullet passing so close to the spine in 223-4. This is supported by the fact that his arms are locked into position until 313] (1/10-2/10 of a second after 223-4) Connally's hat (held in his right hand) begins to move in a reflex response to his radius bone being broken)
228 Kennedy's torso pitches forward suddenly (to 231)
229 Connally's hat drops to its original position.
229-233 Mrs. Connally claimed her husband was shot about this time.
231-234 Connally told the Warren Commission that this was when he remembered being hit.
231 Kennedy stops moving forward.
234 Connally later determines it was at this point. [This is likely when Connally tried to take his next regular breath, the lung punctured only 2/3s of a second before collapsed, and making him feel like he'd just been hit; or, he IS hit at this point and his lung collapses at this point].
235 Connally's mouth opens wide and his body begins to react to the collapsed lung, drawing him down and to the right.
255 Estimated point at which Ike Altgens' picture is shot [showing what appears to be Oswald in the SBD doorway, and an open window in the second floor Dal-Tex broom closet. It also appears to show the crack in the windshield left by bullet fragments (see 337) ].
309?- Zapruder jiggles his camera.
312 Kennedy's head pitches forward suddenly.
313 The 161.2 grain slug, travelling at 2,100 feet per second smacks into the right occipital area of Kennedy's head, shattering the occipital bone and generating tremendous force in the flesh of the brain. The upper right side of his head explodes, blowing brains and bit of bone in an expanding pink cloud. The pieces of the parietal and temporal sections of his skull remain attached by skin, and so fall back into place, creating the appearance of an intact skull. His head lurches back to the left (8.0-8.4 seconds after the first shot) as his body stiffens suddenly from the massive neurological damage, and possibly aggravated by his back brace, or, if you wish, studies have also shown that the head flying back and to the left is also possible because of the matter ejected by the right side of his head exploding in a simple Newtonian happening. The film clearly shows the back of the head to be clean.
by 320 The two officers riding (to the left?) behind the car are splattered with bood and brains, after driving up to and passing through the cloud blown out of the President. (allegedly, a section of Kennedy's right occipital bone was found by Billy Harper, some 35 feet to the left and rear of the impact point
321 Kennedy is slumped to his left, the right parietal area of his skull completely exposed.
337 Kennedy is sliding into Mrs. Kennedy's lap, much of the flesh and bone of his skull hanging hinged by the skin. Two large bullet fragments were found in the car (44.6 and 21.0 grains = 65.6 grains) after they dented some chrome and damaged the windshield, and a "pristine" (Magic) bullet at the hospital (158.6 grains). The average weight of a 6.5 mm Carcano bullet is 161.2 grains. The six fragments removed from Connally would have weighed not more than 1.5 grains all together.

If I remember correctly, the magic bullet theory was posited by Arlen Specter.

For his contribution he was rewarded with a political career.

Much like Clark was rewarded for keeping quiet after his involvement in WACO and his incorrect recommendations on Rwanda, those who play with the powers that be get rewards.

Hey Red Blooded American, please let me know if you find out.

Also, I cut out an article published in the local newspaper in July 21, 1992, for future posterity since I'm somewhat of a conspiracy buff. Listed below is word-for-word the article:

OSWARD RECALLED AS WEAK, BAD SHOT

MOSCOW--A Russian who said he knew Lee Harvey Oswald in the former Soviet Union recalled the assassin of President John F. Kennedy as a man of weak character and a poor marksman, a magazine reported.

The Russian, identified as Pavel Golovachev made the comments in an interview to be printed in "Echo of the Planet," which is published by the ITAR-Tass news agency.

The interview discloses nothing about the assssination, but offers glimpses about Oswald's time in the former Soviet Union from the late 1950s until 1962.

Golovachev told the magazine he met Oswald in the Belarussian capital of Minsk while they worked in the same factory there.

"My attitude to Oswald was the same as if he were an extraterrestrial. It was interesting for me to know what this American was like," he was quoted as saying. Golovachev said he found Oswald to be "a weak man, not very bright or intellectual."

The magazine quoted him as saying that Oswald at one point bought a hunting gun and joined a Soviet hunters' club, but that he rarely attended training sessions and was a bad shot.

"He failed to hit the target even once," Golovachev told the magazine.

It wouldn't surprise me if his head had moved in the opposite direction of the shot. Nervous reflexes can result in odd spasms and convulsions. What makes me think he was shot from the front though are the wounds. Entry wounds are always small and exit wounds are generally much larger.

It seems to me as though there has been enough actual war footage taken by now to conclusively determine if a head shot makes the head move towards the source of a bullet rather than away.

All the shots I can recall show movement in more or less the origional trajectory of the bullet.

Didn't they think to examine ACTUAL archival footage of ACTUAL gunshot wounds, or were they just looking for money for grant money to study such?

The ABC News special on Thursday had a digital recreation of the Zapruder film that could be viewed from any angle. It convincingly showed the path of the bullets coming solely from Oswald's position. There was also a book about 10 years ago by Des Moines attorney James Behlin--a staffer for the Warren Commission-- that also clearly dispells any of the conspiracy theories.

What has fueled the conspiracy theories was the way in which the Kennedy family whisked JFK's body back to Washington instead of letting the local authorities do their investigation and autopsy. This was likely to prevent revealing JFK's true medical condition, his Addison's disease and likely a drug screen showing heavy use of various drugs and painkillers. Given his sexual appetites some history of VD might also have been revealed.

However, what is most convincing to me is that after 40 years no leak of any conspiracy has surfaced --other than obvious nut cases. Given the number of people who would have had to be involved in a conspiracy, someone would have leaked details during the last four decades.

Kennedy was sitting higher and in back of Connolly; one bullet went through Kennedy's neck and then into Connolly. There was no pristine bullet found on the stretcher; that was purely fictionalized in the "JFK" Oliver Stone movie. The bullet that went through both of them was very badly damaged. Oswald was a sharpshooter and sniper; the ABC Peter Jennings special showed Oswald's grade report of his sniper training, and the guy was a crack shot. An 88 year-old man (can't remember his name) showed how he could pull off the same shots, using an identical rifle, in 7.2 seconds. A huge amount of this speculation has come about simply because of the JFK movie.

"Image of an Assassination" has been out for since 1998. I would hardly describe it as "new evidence".

"One of the first results of the Zapruder Film Conference
held at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, 9-11 May 2003,
was the discovery that the films available to the public,
including David Lifton's "Z Film" (undated), the Macmillan
CD (1993), Robert Groden's "The Assassination Films" (1965),
and MPI's "Image of an Assassination" (1998), all differ
significantly in the amount of information they provide.
Even the best, MPI's "Image of an Assassination" (1998)
does not include frames 155 and 156; does not include
frames 208, 209, 210, and 211; has reversed frames 331
and 332; and also does not include (what ought to be)
frames 341, 350, and (even) 486 (!).
This is stunning.

John P. Costella, Ph.D., has produced a fresh version of
the film, which overcomes all of these deficiencies and
introduces improvements never before seen in any Zapruder
film, namely: corrections for pincushion and aspect ratio
distortion; inclusion of the so-called "ghost panels"; and
masking of open sprocket holes to make information more
accessible. In the interest of advancing the frontiers of
knowledge, education, research, science, and inquiry, this
new, improved version is being made available to the public
free of charge to contribute to better understanding of the
death of JFK. It should be of interest to every researcher.
It may be viewed at http://www.assassinationresearch.com/zfilm/? "

The version above is offered as individual jpg's, but they can be compiled into a viewable film using various utilities.

A. B. Smith, zoom version (AVI, 27.7 MB)   (MPI-"Image of an Assassination")

http://www.jfk-online.com/films.html

There are lot's of resources available to the general public on the net, people. All you have to do is look. That's the first step.

I Know I'll get kicked off for being a kook, but I think Kennedy was in so much pain, he was on pills you know, that he had himself eliminated. He couldn't have killed himself or everyone would have called him a coward. But let some others do the job, and he's called one of the greatest presidents.

Will someone please download the photo showing the
motorcade passing the Stemmons Freeway Keep Right Sign
(backs of agents on President's car are seen).
Look to the right of the Zapruder party (inside the concret
memorial)you will see the image of a man standing inside the
memorial. Why is he in there - I believe he is the "phoney"
SS agent who people later said was on the Grassy Knoll.

Invert the picture so light objects are dark and dark objects are light - you will see the inside of the memorial has a
light object through the rectangle -all the rest of the rectangles are dark!!

Why doesnt anyone shut down Dealey Plaza For a weekend, put a fresh corpse in a remote controlled contvertible, and let snipers have at it from every possible angle mentioned to see which way they head matter would explode and which way his body would fall to?

Heads-up to PA Freepers. PCN is now running the proceedings of the Cyril Wecht meeting of Forensic Pathologists. I hope they link the proceedings to their site at a later date.

www.jfk.duq.edu

Wecht also had a few words about the Ron Brown "murder" in his opening remarks.
