When the $35-per-month Medicare premium increase kicks in, the greedy grannies are likely to start draping themselves over
Tom DeLay's car hood.
Unfortunately, with this not kicking in fully until 2006, I doubt the impact will hit the public consciousness soon enough to outrage them. It'd still be unlikely to do any good, with the bureaucracy having been built up to administer this.

YOu have got to be kidding. Outside of his pro-life position and tax cuts, Bush is turning into a mini-disaster on domestic policy. He gave us a pork-ladden farm bill, a bloated education budget, the job-killing steel tariffs and NOW THE GREATEST EXPANSION OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SINCE LBJ.
THERE IS NO WAY TO SPIN THIS BOONDOGGLE. 81% of seniors are satisfied with their current drug plans. PEOPLE SHOULD RING THE WHITE HOUSE LIKE CRAZY (202-456-1111) on Monday.

My question:"List for us all the successful attacks on US soil since the Homeland Security office was created."Your reply: "Since the Mexican consulate was caught after the fact of arranging 200 MEs to slip into the country, we will have to wait and see. These MEs probably need their drivers license first before an attack. Doesn't Homeland security have something to do with our borders??????"
The correct answer is zero. Judging from your reply, you supported Clinton's 8 years of fighting terrorism. Bush inherited this mess, and he's doing a great job erasing it.

I need to know the details. I don't believe anything at all written in the newspapers or spoken on TV and that goes for FNC too.So how do you propose to learn"the details"? Or is it enough that Bush and company want it? It has been described as one of the biggest expansions of government in decades in other reports posted here. It is a $400BILLION thingy.
What more do you need to know?
With all due respect, that is an easy cop-out to avoid saying anything critical, but at least even you find it difficult, at best, to say anything good about it
If it's driving the DUmmies mad and they're screeching about AARP then I am happy.
I also enjoy the squealing....but $400BILLION is a bit too high a price to pay for amusement, wouldn't you say?

Oh YEAH! How wonderful. The moron opposes medicare and the tariffs-a real winning combination in Pennsylvania. I think he is shooting for 20% of the population.

The moron opposes medicare and the tariffs-a real winning combination in Pennsylvania. I think he is shooting for 20% of the population. "The moron" upholds principles we used to fight for on this site. At times like this I wonder why people like yourself decided to join this grassroots conservative site, considering you'd rather attack conservatives like Pat Toomey than support them.

GWB said he'd restore dignity and honor to the White House, and I think he has. He never said principles.

GWB said he'd restore dignity and honor to the White House, and I think he has. He never said principles. You're exactly right. And apparently, no more than a few folks on this site seem to object.

Sorry, but if DU wants to stop this, there must be something good about it.
To: CWOJackson
Most of those you mention never have played ball with this President and never had any intention to anyway. They use the same threats on everything the President does. Right. Not a dimes worth of difference between them and the leftists demonrats who add zero value, just carp, carp, carp.

Sorry, but if DU wants to stop this, there must be something good about it. Why don't you attempt to form an opinion of your own rather than base it upon other's reactions? If Saddam Hussein agreed with the bill, would you then be against it?

Well Saddam is less anti-american than your average DUer, so no.
To: expatpat
All the GOP needs to do is get credit shared, not even 50-50. That muddies the water enough to take that issue away from the Demos -- much like Clinton on law/order with his 1000 cops.
I agree with your theory, but I don't think it's going to work in this situation.
To: Democratshavenobrains
Well Saddam is less anti-american than your average DUer, so no. Do you form an opinion for yourself on any topic? Or do you always wait for someone else to tell you what to think?

Is it your position that Bush would not be reelected unless this bill was passed?
I won't be happy until the Democrats' issues are ours.... all ours!

The bottom line is that conservatives who threaten to break ranks with Bush over this single issue are idiots and are going to be responsible if some appeasing Dem gets elected next year. Look how great that worked in 1992. Disagree with it all you want, but don't act like a baby come election time.
To: NittanyLion
Nope, I'm just saying that the purists are simply looking for a reason to bash the President and I am not willing to go there.
Too many sheeple out there and we need EVERY vote to overcome the massive fraud that will be perpetrated in the next election.
