Remember when gays couldn't vote? Remember when gays had a seperate water fountain or when gays had to ride at the back of the bus?

There goes another Derrick Z. argument. To equate civil right to gay rights does a disservice to the civil rights struggle. No one is being denied their Life, Liberty or Pursuit of Happiness.

Carter quoted the section of Hitler's "Mein Kampf" that said the most "sacred right" and most "sacred obligation" is to "see to it that the blood is preserved pure," because mixed-race people were "trash." Carter said, "Let us not forget that this was the man who plunged the world into a war in which, for the third time, Americans fought, bled, and died for the truth of the proposition that all men are created equal."

Funny how "progressives" seem to support other ideas of Hitler - Gun control, centralized government control of the economy, banning of "thoughts" not in agreement with government, making laws not through elected representatives but by decree, etc.

The next time President Bush declares that the SJC's ruling "violates" the "sacred institution" of marriage, he ought to remember how the word "sacred" was stained by the 20th century's most infamous figure.

To summarize the argument:

Hitler misused the word "sacred". Therefore, the concept of sacredness is now kaput. There is nothing sacred. There is no God. There is no Morality. And it's all Hitler's fault. And Bush's.
