Remember the AQ has suitcase nukes claims, AQ has chem/bio weapon claims, UBL will be caught in two weeks claim, etc., etc.???

No. I don't remember Ijaz making any of those claims. Anybody else?

I got the impression that Mansoor thought our intelligence agencies were taking too long to decide whether this was viable info or not so he went to Brit.

I don't know whether to trust Mansoor or not, but he sure seems to have good contacts in the area.

I'll wage my bets that Mansoor is right. His info so far has been accurate. We need to listen to him and take heed.
I fear another large attack soon.

Really. FOX has news alerts about peterson, bryant and jackson at the top and bottom of the hour now. It is the same news alert repeated for a few hours followed by another few hours of another suspect's news alerts basically. One show rehashes into the next. What a pity. I want justice for Lacey, the rape victim and the abused little boy, but the news alerts are salacious and do not help them.

If Ijaz has better intelligence sources than the government has, then I would expect that he'd be telling the government first before revealing it on national television.

If not, it might mean that he is more interested in publicity than in helping in the war on terror.

Worse, it could mean that he's interested more in tipping off the hunted so that they could change tactics.

At the very least, the government should be eavesdropping on every communication he makes or receives, and probably are.

Everything about this report makes me suspicious.

Well, I ran a thread in breaking news two months ago about Ijaz claiming Al Qaeda was hijacking ships and kidnapping sailors and captains out in the waters of South East Asia. Ijaz claimed that these might be used to blow up one (or more) of our port cities. No one has reported on this since, and nothing (so far -- fingers still crossed) has happened.

Perhaps the sources are suspect, not Ijaz.

I saw this on Fox, it was a MAJOR story...now back to Micheal Jackson

At least this seems to be "Breaking News" worthy (for now).
However, many of those that feel their opinons should carry more weight here due to "their much speaking" haven't replied yet.

Like Pervez? He went from commenting repitiously that usama was dead or not in Pakistan to usama is alive and in the mountains near the border of Afghanistan. Hmmm... does makes you wonder. Perhaps they deliberately broadcast usama's true location but only AFTER usama is safely long gone! Playing us as stupid. Could possibly be, I think.

Iran is a much larger and FAR more populous country than Iraq. And worse and more defensible terrain.

You're living in a drug-addled fantasy world if anyone thinks we're invading Syria or Iran anytime in the remotely foreseable future.

I don't think any sensible person is talking about marching to Teheran, but an invasion to destroy the paramilitary "Jerusalem Force" camps along the Iraq/Iran border where senior al-Qaeda officials are reportedly being harbored, may well be doable. Much depends on info I'm not privy to, but I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of a temporary and limited invasion.

"You're living in a drug-addled fantasy world if anyone thinks we're invading Syria or Iran anytime in the remotely foreseable future." This is exactly right. I've had debates here with guys who think we can just go in, no problem, and take over these other countries.

The numbers "on paper" say we can, but when you figure in troop rotation, funding, and most of all the media management of yet "another" war (and I know, it's the SAME WAR, the ORIGINAL WAR, but it won't be played that way), well, I think we have to make sure Afghanistan and Iraq are completely set before we go after the next target. But I'm all for eventually taking out all these creeps.

Now wait a minute. Weasely Clark said that Newsweak knows where he is.

Newsweek (Sept. 8, 2003)- Rumors of Bin Laden's Lair:

...according to senior Taliban officials contacted by NEWSWEEK in Pakistan and Afghanistan. They say bin Laden remains directly engaged as a strategist and financier for Al Qaeda, the Taliban and related groups. In April, shortly after the collapse of Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq, the Qaeda leader convened the biggest terror summit since September 11 at a mountain stronghold in Afghanistan. ...

i saw this report as well. it's very frightening. i always knew iran and syria were the real monsters in that region. iranians like to call themselves perrrsians (sounds so benign), and not arabs, however they can't deny they are islamofascists.

evil is as evil does and they are all acolytes of the religion of "peace".

. . . UBL will be caught in two weeks claim . . .

This one I DO remember. I generally think his info is good, however. I just think he's a bit, well, optimistic sometimes.
