And every single black person I have seen talking about this on all the entertainment shows are saying that this DA has been targeting MJ.

I prefer them as well, for the same reason that you set forth. Tremendous torque = "pain control" without any real damage. I see some LEOs in real life and on TV ("Cops" and fiction) -- no disrespect or bravado intended -- and marvel at how they often have to struggle to cuff a perp or a skip.

Worse, I see them leading the guy while gripping the chain of their linked cuffs -- nice way to lose some fingers and provide entertainment and possibly escape for the more savvy "customer."

Worse yet, a guy cuffed on only one wrist can use the chain plus an opened/"unoccupied" cuff as a weapon every bit as nasty as chuks, when you factor in having your eyeball plucked out with a flip of a (cuffed) wrist. Bad fate for a dedicated server & protector or professional private operator.

For all the unearned crap we catch, I'm convinced that many professional bail recovery agents are better trained in some tradecraft than are some LEOs -- including the FBI, but not the USMS, of course. Stay safe.....

MJ is now in Vegas, having managed to finally release his latest musical project, and now has everything to gain by pulling a Polansky.

It has been reported widely today that he hired Geragos last March and knew that this day would come. Fleeing directly from Las Vegas yesterday would have spelled GUILTY in 65-point type.

Now he has until his arraignment on 01/09/04 to pretend to mentally dissociate, to leave a suicide note, to be "forcibly abducted" by his loyalists, etc., etc.

If his finances are as shaky as variously reported, he may well have had to post a surety bond. And that is good, for reasons that are best left as a surprise -- for a slippery freak trying to leave a bail bondsman holding a $3 million bag.......

I have been sitting here watching the footage of this sad event.
The bizzare spectale of this man who is accused of a most henous crime walking out of the polce station flashing the victory sign and blowing kisses.
Then he is dashed off with great fanfare back to the airpot. He flies back to Vegas where his CHILDREN are brought onto the plane, covered with blankets.
He then enters an SUV, more than likely with his children, and proceeds to drive a slow 90min trek to a private resort. All the while stopping on the street and rolling the window down, exposing those children to yet another freak show...not to mention the possiblity that some zealot could stick a gun in the window ...What a sick spectacle!
I fear for those children that he duped some sick deluded woman to produced like a brood mare. She is as sick as he is. I will pray for those children and any children that have had any contact with that freak.

What bothers me about following this story, Jackie, is that I believe there will be no justice in the end no matter what happens.

Outwardly, more often than not, pedophiles are nice, kind, compassionate, loving, gentle type people. How often do we hear of a pedophile that "he was really great with kids... loved kids, etc."? It makes me angry that this is so, b/c then when the pedophile is caught doing things with kids that will ruin the kids' lives, there are always lots of people who come forward and talk about what a "great guy" he is.

They can throw the book at Jackson, and considering the penalties usually on the books for sexual fondling, or similar crimes, it won't be more than a few years.

Even if he were found guilty and sentenced, he would be treated as a first offender and would be given the lower-end sentence. Furthermore, with good time, etc., he would probably serve little of that.

If he did go to jail, his money would still serve to make it an almost painless experience. Money buys stuff, even in jail.

He may never be proved to have done anything, b/c certainly the parents of these victims are often not right in the head, and therefore may not be credible witnesses.

Ditto for the children victims. But then, how could anyone expect a child who has been repeatedly sexually victimized to be emotionally sound enough to be a determined and consistent witness?

In the meantime, the publicity will help this creature to sell stuff. Celebrities have figured out that in our culture, notoriety is as good as any other type of publicity.

All of the above make me feel that following Michael's case is probably an exercise in futility. There's nothing to root for. Even if he has molested boys--and I think he has--he'll be free to molest again, before, during, and after his trial.

PS As for all his surgery and bleaching of his skin, he is looking more and more like a thin version of Monica Lewinsky.
