There are way too many non-breaking news stories being placed in breaking news. It's gotten so bad, this is in breaking news. Please, if the story has been posted once in breaking news, it doesn't belong there again unless it's a critical update. Also, don't abuse topics. A story does not need to be posted in every single topic. It does not generate more hits to your thread.
Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Scott Peterson, etc, are not breaking news, unless convicted. This is tabloid journalism, we are a conservative forum.

I wonder what posting would be like if the breaking, front page, extended... columns disappeared for a week?As far as redundant breaking news, how many days is this material considered breaking? Maybe a time limit?

Nonsense, why would I do that? You're actually taking the pro-whining position. Which puts me, in contraposition to you, in a rather cherry spot. It's great to actually find anyone willing to stick up for that. I mean, outside the 'rats camp! Go for it.

A lot depends on the type of news. Good examples are 9-11 and the war in Iraq. It's sometimes hard to determine that line, and in those two examples, it was extremely hard to determine what was legit during that time. It's really a case by case basis, but tabloid news isn't breaking news after the first story, and it should end there. (keywords and search can be used to find existing threads) Let's leave the tabloid stuff to Fox.

And I guess if, after all of this, somehow you've only been able to arrive at the conclusion that pro-whining is my main point, I'll never be able to convince you anyway that your "cherry spot" is full of pits...enjoy your bliss.

Let's leave the tabloid stuff to Fox. yah, and leave the hard news to cnn, cbs, abc, nbc, nytimes, latimes, washpost, etc... oh, and that guy up in boston, herold? </smartass>
okay, so it's alright to post the tabloid junk, but it isn't catagorized as breaking news, yes?
that is a directive I fully support. thanks for putting up with so much bravo sierra. you admins have a tough and mostly thankless job.
well, I thank you.
