Muslims do not believe Jesus Christ is God. Again, Jews don't believe in Jesus Christ. So if you're saying that Muslims and Christians don't worship the same God because Muslims don't believe in Jesus Christ, then by your logic, neither do Jews and Christians worship the same God.
I think we all do.

According to the Church, they do.
The new Catechism says: "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims"

Back in the sixties when I was in Catholic school that was not in the Catechism that I read. The passage in question comes from the second Vatican Council.

Ever heard the phrase "Judeo-Christian" values?
Of course you have. Of course you do know that it's the duty of every Christian, Catholic or otherwise to try and "spread the good news". That means to attempt a peaceful conversian to Christ by conversation and education. .Not bloody persecution like Islam.
Official doctrine is that the Jews will eventually come home to Jesus. Therby fullfilling the new covenant.
How come I've never heard the phrase "Judeo-Christian-Muslim" values?
You refuse to answer any of my questions or challenges of your "opinion". Not fact. Not established infallible Catholic doctrine, but your opinion.
You seem to think that posting and re-posting the same sentence somehow makes your argument.
It doesn't.
You couldn't respond to my last post so you went back to my first. Very Lame.
You're not Catholic and have no answers.
Go away abdullah. I won't waste any more time on you.

How can he be the Son of God and God too? Because he is begotten, not made; and exists as the Father's eternal Word.

You don't seem to understand that the Catechism is not "infallible" and the Nicene Creed is.
If you want some sort of secular logic then please go elsewhere.
We're taking about faith.

It's obvious to me that God and allah are not the same. "As I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you."

Ever heard the phrase "Judeo-Christian" values? Remind me again which encyclical or ecumenical council coined this term.
How come I've never heard the phrase "Judeo-Christian-Muslim" values?
You will. The secular culture that confects these chimerical constructs just needs some time to catch up.

Do you know how to tell if a messenger is a false prophet? Throw him in a lake. If he floats, he's a false prophet.

God forgive him.
I have heard this from Episcopal clergymen but this means they do not serve the same God that I do. They serve some god or other.

Thanks for the chuckle.

Re: Post 557
How can water exist in liquid, gas, and solid states at the same temperature?
How come time has a past, present, and future?
How come space is 3 dimensional?
How can Isaiah 9:6 say:
For unto us a child is born,
unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.'
How come Deut. 6:4, 'Here O Israel, The LORD, our God, is one LORD', refers to God/LORD three times while calling Him ONE (with the central reference "God" being in the Hebrew word, 'Eloyhim' - the plural word for God)?
And then verse 6:5 follows, by telling us - who were made in the image of God, to love the LORD our God with the three attributes of heart, soul, and might?
We certainly now see through a glass darkly, but God's evidence of His triune nature abounds throughout His Word.
Furthermore, how could a mere man carry, and pay for, the sins of all those He saved? Only the God Man - God the Son - could stand in for us sinners - pay the payment of an eternity in hell - and wash us clean.
Praise be to God - The Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Notice, of course that it doesn't say, "I found an altar with this inscription: TO ZEUS WHO EQUALS JESUS"
The point: Both allah and Jesus are known. Neither of them are unknown to either the islamics or the Bushes. The islamics CLEARLY do not consider Jesus = Allah to be truth.

Thank you. I've seen that before but forgot where I saw it. The correct numbers are: married a 6 year old and raped her when she was 9.
As I said before, marrying a 13 year old in the 7th century wouldn't have been out of line with the standards of the day.
But marrying a 6 year old... this is a prophet?

Ummm...hate to tell you this, but the Catechism is screwed up! What is this the "Catechism" for, the Episcopal church?

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all spring from Abraham. I will grant that terrorists do not worship the same God, but Muslims can be very good people. I know some that are actually better people than some individuals who call themselves Christians.
The fact that you can find good people and bad people in any large group is a banal tautology.
What's important is: what does the doctrine of a particular group do to promote good behavior or bad behavior?
You are aware of the practice of "honor killings", aren't you? In which women are murdered to remove the stain of dishonor that was placed on them when they were raped. In other words, in many Islamic cultures --- most strongly in the center of Islam, Saudi Arabia --- the penalty for being raped is death.
Try rolling those words off your tongue once or twice to get the feel of them, the flavor of them, the force of them: The penalty for being raped is death.
Have you been raped? Then you are guilty of a capital crime for which there can only be one penalty: death.
This thinking is not an aberration in the Islamic world, but part of its core ideology.
Bill Mayer admits to hating all religions. But he goes on to say that, "there's something particulary odious about a religion that puts women in bee-keeper suits".
And I would add: Something particularly evil about any system of thought that condemns the victim of rape to the penalty of death.
Sure, you can find good people here and there, but the religion of Islam is itself evil and pernicious.

There is either one God or zero Gods. Everyone who believes in God worships the same God. What they do as human beings doesn't change that fact.
