South Africa has taken a major step in the battle against HIV and AIDS, one that may help the world defeat the pandemic once and for all.

Yesterday's decision by the South African cabinet to approve a plan for the nationwide treatment of people living with HIV and AIDS is a milestone for a country that has one of the highest rates of HIV infection. Under the terms of the new treatment program, developed by the health ministry with the support of my foundation, up to 1.4 million South Africans should be receiving medicines which will extend their lives by years.

South Africa, for many years, has had one of the world's best programs for educating people about the dangers of AIDS, preventing people from becoming HIV-infected and promoting good nutrition to suppress the progression of the disease.

It couldn't have been that good, if so many people are now in need of medicine.

Message to Bubba Clinton:

Read this, you incomprehensibly thick twit:
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20030707-123304-2922r.htm

Here's a bit of an excerpt. I think Bob Geldof said it all quite nicely:

"Clinton talked the talk and did diddly squat, whereas Bush doesn't talk but does deliver," said Mr. Geldof, an Irish musician and activist who in 1985 staged the world's largest rock concert to combat starvation in Africa.

"You'll think I'm off my trolley when I say this, but the Bush administration is the most radical, in a positive sense, in the approach to Africa since Kennedy," he said.

...so shut up and go away, Billy-boy. Your only legacy will be your trysts and your treasonous conduct. Everything else you've done won't even merit a footnote in any expanded history book.

They will rid Africa of the AIDS virus, just as soon as they rid it of poverty and famine.
