New Evidence in J.F.K. Assassination Compels L.B.J. Attorney, Barr McClellan, To Demand Release of Documents
Monday November 17, 3:35 pm ET
McClellan, Former Attorney for Lyndon Baines Johnson, Petitions Support Of Senate Judiciary Committee and Department of Justice to Investigate New Evidence and to Release All Documents in J.F.K. Assassination Case
WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Barr McClellan, an attorney who worked closely with former President Lyndon Baines Johnson, has asked for the support of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Department of Justice to investigate new evidence of L.B.J.'s involvement in the J.F.K. assassination. McClellan has also asked for the release of hundreds of documents that were withheld by the C.I.A. and F.B.I. from a 1998 investigation conducted by the Assassination Records Review Board.
"The American public has waited forty years to hear the truth about the J.F.K. assassination," said McClellan. "For government agencies to withhold critical evidence and not cooperate with the AARB investigation is a form of obstruction of justice. Under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, the public should be granted access to these documents."
According to McClellan and former AARB investigator Doug Horne, hundreds of relevant documents were withheld from the 1998 investigation into the J.F.K. Assassination. They believe that these materials are now in the possession of the National Archives, relocated from sealed files previously controlled by the C.I.A. and F.B.I. Additionally, McClellan has suggested a formal review of the evidence in his book, "Blood, Money & Power: How L.B.J. Killed J.F.K." which clearly shows a direct connection between L.B.J. and the individual involved with the assassination and cover-up.
"At this time we need to see what else is missing and what else would be helpful to presenting the entire truth," McClellan continued. "The Senate Judiciary Committee and the Department of Justice could make the request of the National Archives and should do so."
A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, at which time McClellan will make a more specific request for document production, and will detail support for this cause from diverse and highly placed sources. The public and media are invited to attend this special conference at the National Press Club, in Washington, D.C. at 3:00 p.m. EST. "Blood, Money & Power: How L.B.J. Killed J.F.K." by Barr McClellan was released last month by Hannover House. 464 pages, $24.95 sugg. retail, ISBN 0-9637846-2-5. NATIONAL PRESS CLUB, 529 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20045

I've drawn the opnion that he was possibly one of the crookedest SOBs we've had the misfortune of leading our country. You may be right. For a fascinating and highly detailed account of his life in the Senate, read Robert Cato's "Master of the Senate." It is superb. There are virtually no redeeming qualities about LBJ. Really.

LBJ let 58,000 Americans die in Vietnam when he knew in 1965 we weren't going to win. He is capable of what the history channel posits.
Went to Washington as a public servant poor in the 1940's, Left Washington in 1969 worth $40 million.
He's a monster on Clinton's level.

He was on Art Bell last weekend. Claims to have solid finger print evidence of a paid assassin used by LBJ -- taken from the Texas Book Depository location. Says there were three shooters: Oswald and two others.

One is how unscrupulous LBJ was how he managed (with the help of his party) to throw elections, among other things.
I've drawn the opnion that he was possibly one of the crookedest SOBs we've had the misfortune of leading our country.
There is very strong evidence that prior to the assassination of JFK
he had his personal hired gunman murder political opponents.

The History Channel deserves emails, faxes and congratulations for having the courage to run these very, very compelling shows about the Kennedy cover-up.
Nobody but a complete & total moron can believe, when presented with the calvacade of evidence that Lee H Oswald was the lone nut assassin. For crying out loud, Oswald was anti-Castro and was trying to get Castro assassinated, etc, etc, etc. And he was friends with Jack Ruby, etc, etc. Ruby had to quiet him from talking.
The ignorance is mind boggling. It is so sad. But I hear ABC is running a show this week that concludes that the Warren Commission was right. WHAT A JOKE. Who owns the History Channel? they deserve to be Lauded for their courage. Idiot outlets like ABC News that try to validate the Warren Commission might as well have Pee-Wee Herman host the show. They HAVE NO CREDIBILITY.
I GUARANTEE YOU BEHIND ANY SHADOW OF A DOUBT THAT LBJ was complicit in the cover-up, if not also in the plan and its action.

Have you read his book? I have, and if you do, you will know why he is asking for this, and I totally agree it should be done.

As a Texan, I can tell you that probably most of what you have heard about LBJ is true. At least that's the opinion I get whenever the subject of LBJ comes up among Texans who lived through the LBJ era in this state.I was a teenager in the early 60s and I can still recall my Texas aunt telling me what a crook LBJ was after he became Vice President. And she was (and still is at 86) a Southern Democrat.
To: ladyinred
Have you read his book? No. I'm sick of books about Kennedy.
I read Gerald Posner's book, and it was so comprehensive, lucid, and convincing that Oswald acted alone, I haven't read another book on the assassination since, and don't intend to read any more.

Men shooting from storm drains is the stuff of Covert ops, sinkspur. It is what determined, well paid and well motivated assassins do - ie, whatever the job calls for.
I'm sorry that reality is intruding on what appears to be your illusions; but, denegrating people because their testimony plays with your beliefs is less than honest. If they were factually incorrect, that is one thing. You are merely being a blind detractor. In this as in all things, we should be about getting to the truth. If the facts pointed to guilt of Oswald, this conversation need not take place. Oswald was convicted without a trial and silenced before he could have his day in court.
The house committee on assasinations reversed the official record and stated 4 shots and 2 shooters. They also falsified the record to defend part of the Warren commission findings. So, which official government position do you wish to defend. Oswald operating alone or with help. They can't both be true. I don't believe he had anything to do with it. But that belief is based on all the evidence - not the select evidence the Warren commission decided to look at after being told Oswald is guilty and the public must be made to buy into that.

LBJ was perfectly capable of killing Kennedy. He was an incredibly nasty and ruthless man. Whether he did so, I have no idea. I agree that McClellan has an interest in making PR waves in order to sell his book. I'm not sure that's "pimping." Naturally an author wants his book to sell.
As for the files, whether or not McClellan has any credibility is beside the point. Why not release them? I seriously doubt that any national security interests are at stake. At most, probably, political embarassment.

I don't believe he had anything to do with it. But that belief is based on all the evidence -
There's no evidence that absolves Oswald; in fact, the evidence points to him being the exclusive shooter.
If you choose to swallow all the rest of this Birchite nonsense, well, it doesn't matter.

Gore Vidal once wrote about his father being a "bag man" for LBJ. Said he literally delivered to LBJ large brown paper bags full of cash.

LBJ and his criminal acts unrelated to Kennedy are abhorrent to say the least. His "Great Society" was his big contribution to the marxist socialization of the USA and the beginning of its debt spiral. He had no vision, no scruples, and nothing but big oil connections that got him where he was. Vietnam is mainly his legacy --- and a horrible one at that. LBJ was a failure on so many levels - i hope he repented before his appointment with our Maker.
