So, where exactly is "free" Iraq, and how can it be identified and separated from "non-free" Iraq? I thought there was a foreign military force occupying Iraq.

True, but to call a country occupied by a foreign military power "free" is really stretching the definition. Post-Sadaam Iraq, that fits. I sure wouldn't consider the US "free" if it was ruled by a foreign military power.
