WASHINGTON House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) launched a new Web site that provides an unfiltered look at free Iraq. The site, www.Freedom.gov, serves as a one-stop shop for the timeliest information on the liberation and reconstruction taking place in Iraq each day. The reconstruction campaign that Members have seen on the ground in Iraq is both positive and productive, DeLay said. A safe and secure Iraq is the exit strategy to get our troops home."
Its our goal to offer an unfiltered look at the real efforts being made to free Iraq.
The Freedom.gov Web site features footage taken live from the streets where freedom is being defended every day. One objective is to exhibit articles and media content of Members who have been to Iraq on congressional delegations, including success stories and experiences they have shared with the Iraqi people. Also contained on the site are recent photos and news stories, as well as official information from the Departments of Defense, State, and Homeland Security.
The Web site, created in conjunction with the House Republican Conference, also displays information on coalition troops who continue to fight for the liberation of Iraqis. Americans who are willing to help in this effort may simply log-on to learn how to show their support for our service members, especially those fighting overseas in this time of war.

Just to confuse things more, I can see the photo you posted now. Maybe the referring website was down temporarily.

So, where exactly is "free" Iraq, and how can it be identified and separated from "non-free" Iraq? I thought there was a foreign military force occupying Iraq.
To: familyofman
Indeed. It is free in the sense that its former dictatorial regime is no longer in place.

True, but to call a country occupied by a foreign military power "free" is really stretching the definition. Post-Sadaam Iraq, that fits. I sure wouldn't consider the US "free" if it was ruled by a foreign military power.

Good point. I am trying to remember if the Allies called Germany "free" after World War II.
