WE EXPOSE BIGGEST ROYAL SECURITY SCANDAL EVER

WORLD EXCLUSIVE |
By Jane Kerr, Royal Reporter |

A SHOCKING royal security scandal has been exposed by a Mirror reporter working secretly as a footman. Ryan Parry infiltrated the heart of Buckingham Palace for two months as police and senior staff prepared for the state visit of George Bush. Parry, who used bogus references to get the job, was still in the Palace lastnight as Mr Bush arrived. He watched unchallenged as the president and his wife Laura were met by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in the Palace garden at around 8pm.

YESTERDAY IN THE MALL: Riding in horse-gilded carriage yesterday, just hours before George Bush arrived, my fellow footmen ans I escort the Portuguese ambassador and other VIPs along the Mall to Buckingham Palace as part of my ceremonial duties He had a full view from a pitch by the state dining room through a net curtain. Had he been a terrorist hell bent on assassinating the royals or Mr Bush, nothing could have stopped him. Parry, who infiltrated the Palace two months ago, would have served breakfast today to the presidents chief aides, including national security adviser Condoleezza Rice and US Secretary of State Colin Powell. Bushs exact itinerary had been handed out to staff more than 90 minutes before he arrived. In the wrong hands the details could prove devastating. Even the time the president met by Prince Charles at Heathrow last night was due to get up today, 5.30am, was given out. But Parry walked out of his £11,881 job at the end of his shift last night, leaving his uniform on the bed in his room at the Palace.

INSIDE: Parry on balcony of Buckingham Palace The security scandal will send shock waves across the world. Our investigation exposes the serious flaws in the £10million security operation to protect Mr Bush. Our probe began less than two months after police vowed royal security had been tightened following comedy terrorist Aaron Barscaks gatecrashing of Prince Williams 21st birthday at Windsor Castle. But it was the ease with which Parry, 26, got the job that is so shocking. His credentials were never properly checked, although a simple search on the internet would have shown his name and picture next to another Mirror investigation he carried out last summer into security at the Wimbledon tennis tournament. He was able to wander freely in and out of the Palace often carrying luggage and electrical equipment. On duty he always had a camera in a pocket but was never searched.

SMILE: Charles greets Bush last night Only hours before the presidents arrival, Parry was sent to lay out chocolates and fruit for the US leader and his following. He was allowed into every room to deliver a medium box of Bendicks special chocolates, a glass jar of Charbonnel & Walker mints, a jar of chocolate digestives, a basket of fruit, a bowl of strawberries and cherries.
- Bush yesterday ditched plans to publicly meet relatives of British victims of the September 11 attacks today at the memorial garden outside the US Embassy. The event will now take place behind closed doors inside the heavily-fortified embassy amid growing security fears.

If you believe the "mirror" it is!
To: Happy2BMe
They didn't "expose" the scandal. They created it. Wasn't that once considered unethical?
To: Happy2BMe
If this be true, then Parry did everyone a favor. I hope those in charge of security are smart enough to learn the lesson.

"One episode" is all it took for Lincoln and Kennedy too.
Hot dam - what a travesty if 14,000 British police were standing outside the palace and something happened to him sitting at the Queen's breakfast table.

It seems we have a rash of freelance (and thus far benign) security probes - first that
joker who smuggled play-do and razors on a number of Southwest flights, and now this...
Gee... ya think if they can, the terrorists can?

How many people who want us dead have used false info and credentials to get hired by food service companies who deliver food to airplanes WITHOUT GOING THROUGH A METAL DETECTOR OR BEING SEARCHED BY SECURITY.

All this centrally-planned security crap is a total waste of time and money.
The only true security comes from alert citizens knowing their neighbors and those with whom they work.
Let's not forget that it was private citizens using cell phones who identified the 9-11 hijackers.

"How many people who want us dead have used false info and credentials to get hired by food service companies who deliver food to airplanes WITHOUT GOING THROUGH A METAL DETECTOR OR BEING SEARCHED BY SECURITY." Err... dunno. (How many Muslims in this country take the Koran literally?)
Another question might be: "How many people who want Dubya dead have used false info and credentials to get hired in food service at the White House?"
That narrows it down considerably, don't you think?
Now, about that pesky undercover reporter posing as a food service worker at the palace . . .

I dont know for sure about the laws in England, but I really doubt you can be thrown in jail for lying on a job application.

Our company broke the story about the food handlers a year and a half ago. I was told by a very high official at LAX that they go through spot checks. It is scary.
