I've found that to usually be the case, but what about the pristine bullet? No mark, no mushroom? Do AP bullets make small entry, large exit wounds?

It was an early 20th Century design for going through as many soldiers as possible or the equipment they were carrying.

The nose on the Second bullet was damaged and it was flattened. The lead was squeezed out of the exposed base like a toothpaste tube.
