Serious and respectful question: do creationists who do not believe that Neanderthals existed believe that Neanderthal fossils were planted as a hoax, or is there another basis to reject the notion that Neanderthals existed?
I believe that the old explanation was that the fossil record was planted by Satan as a means to lead the faithful astray. LOL In fact, when a pterodactyl fossil was discovered during the Middle Ages, it was seen as the skeleton of a demon.
