What really pi**es me off is that the SOB county chairman(R) is an absolute chickensh** that doesn't do a da** thing. And everytime I talk to my district chairman he tells me to talk to my county chairman because the plan is to "rely on the county parties", i.e. the district party is lazy and doesn't want to get involved.

"Wasn't Doyle a nut that pushed for a total ban"Yes. He even tried to make percussion caps destructive devices when he helped the rats come up with their version of WI's terror bill. He was the AG at the time.

Doyle vetoed a bill requiring voters to present some form of ID in order to vote. Plus as attorney general, he refused to investigate allegations of voter fraud in the 2000 presidential election. Doyle is PRO-VOTER FRAUD.

That's the journal's spin. Here's a very short list, do a google search on
voter fraud wisconsinSmokes for Votes, other violations
MADISON-The following is a statement from Republican Party of Wisconsin chairman Richard Graber regarding the settlement of the Milwaukee "smokes for votes" election fraud scandal. Connie Milstein, one of the Democratic National Committee's major donors, has agreed to pay a $5,000 fine and not contest the civil charges filed against her Thursday in Milwaukee. Last year, Milstein was caught on video handing out packages of cigarettes to homeless men in Milwaukee in exchange for casting absentee ballots in the presidential election.
[snip]
"This particular incident involving Connie Milstein is only one of the more than 500 cases of voter fraud reported to the Republican Party of Wisconsin in the days following the 2000 presidential election and is only one of the nearly 100 eyewitness accounts of voter fraud turned over the Milwaukee County District Attorney for investigation. It is quite possibly the tip of the iceberg when it comes to voter fraud in this state."
DEMOCRATS PUSH ELECTION DAY VOTER FRAUD
[snip] Graber pointed out that in the 2000 elections, 361 felons were illegally allowed to cast votes in Milwaukee County alone. In addition, a wealthy Democrat donor, Constance Milstein, was caught on camera passing out cigarettes as bribes to encourage the homeless to vote. Milstein later paid a $5,000 fine.
In the current election campaign, on Oct. 14 two Jim Doyle for Governor campaign workers were caught on videotape passing out quarters, kringle and beverages to influence the votes of mentally disabled residents of a Kenosha care facility. Kenosha County District Attorney Bob Jambois, a member of the Doyle campaign's steering committee, hand-picked the special prosecutor who declined to file criminal charges.
"Once again, the Democrats have shown their willingness to toss honesty and integrity out the window on election day," Graber said. "Wisconsin's long tradition of clean and fair elections is being violated repeatedly, and voters need to keep this appalling misconduct in mind when they go to the polls."

Governor Doyle has signed his own political death warrant on this. In case anyone doesn't remember, Governor Ann Richards bottled up the CHL bill in the 1993 Texas Legislature with the unconditional threat of a veto. They didn't force her to make good on the threat, but practically every gun owner in Texas knew about it.
She subsequently lost her re-election bid in 1994 to George W. Bush, by a substantial margin. The concurrent backlash against Clinton was a contributing factor, but I believe even Richards has admitted that her opposition to the CHL bill was the deciding issue.
The CHL bill was passed by the 1995 Legislature, and became effective on 1/1/96.

Governor Doyle has signed his own political death warrant on this. He just pissed off over half of the state and the NRA. This, plus his veto of the pro-marriage bill, he's gone.
You can thank a libertarian for his election.

Wisconsin's new concealed carry law vetoed by Doyle. Make's me sick!!!!! Look at the bright side... Texas Governor Ann Richards vetoed the Texas concealed handgun bill the legislature passed -- and it was a major factor in her subsequent defeat for re-election (by George W. Bush, who promised to sign it if the legislature passed it again, which he did).
To: KantianBurke
why then did over half the state vote him in, in the first place? Most state and local elections are won by name recognition. Very few of the voters actually know the agenda a candidate has before being elected. The front page of most local newspapers are covered with national news. I always tell people to get educated about a candidate before voting for them. Project Vote Smart is a start.
