Prayer request: My child suddenly lost sight in one eye, may lose the other

My husband (Patrickhenryinva) and I ask for you to pray for our dear child. He's 13.
He might have an unusually-presenting glaucoma. The alternatives are even worse. If it's LHNO, he could lose the other eye in similar fasion before Christmas. He might also have a brain tumor.
Glaucoma is suspected because His intraocular pressure is elevated, and he has optic nerve "cupping" that is typical of glaucoma.
He has completely lost the central visual field in his left eye, though the peripheral vision is completely intact. Usually, glaucoma knocks out the peripheral vision and spares the central vision. Visual losses from glaucoma usually creep up on a person. His happened virtually overnight.
He came to me Thurday afternoon, inquiring about what the cloud that had descended over his left eye, obscuring his vision, might be.
Friday morning at the opthamologists, I realized he could see nothing. Refraction didn't help at all.
(TWo months previously he had a mostly perfect routine exam. His pressures had actually been borderline high but there was nothing else "wrong". Drops are not usually started with pressures like he had then, and I wasn't referred to an opthamologist, or given special advice.)
If it's LHON, which doesn't usually get higher pressures, but can have cupping and sudden onset and central field defects and pop up in kids his age, then if his case is typical he will lose his other eye in time for the new year, perhaps christmas.
The prospect of this is utterly terrifying and devastating. Some kids/adults only have the one eye affected, though. Sometimes their vision even comes back, sometimes completely!!!
He's going to see a glaucoma specialist thursday, with an MRI for the first part of next week to rule out tumors that can mimic glaucoma.
Prayer is so needed for my child. Please pray for him. There is hope. I'm praying alone right now.

We are praying for your precious son now. Father, heal this good boy!
Tell him - do not be afraid... God has made him stronger than he himself could ever imagine, and he will prevail.

Not, "I wish God would save my child from blindness". It's , "I know God CAN and WILL save my child from blindness". No second guessing.
In your prayers, thank and praise God ahead of time, and don't say, "if it is your will". Jesus never refrained from healing anyone. It's His will.
Prayers fervently sent up for you and your son. Sounds like he and I have alot in common.

Don't worry -- pray! There's a lot of speculation going on here, folks mean well, but at this point it's just more cause for worry. Don't forget God is in charge.
Children are resilient, and even if (and it's a great big if) he should lose part or all of his sight, he will adapt - you would be surprised how inventive and adaptive kids (and even grownups) can be. I know you're frightened (believe me, I know!) but try not to communicate despair to him. His dreams will grow to match his abilities, and his abilities will expand to match his dreams. And he will find a way. I have friends who are totally and partially blind, and each has found a way to do what he or she loves.

Father God, we all come to you, begging for your intervention in Sarah's son's eyesight. Please Lord, heal his eyes. Please Lord, make it such a miracle that the doctors KNOW the healing was from you.
We pray for wisdom for each doctor, nurse and caregiver who comes in contact with this child of yours. We pray for peace for him and for his parents.
Lord, we've seen the power of prayer here on Free Republic. Please hear our prayer. Please answer our prayer.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen!

No, no your not SarahW! We are here for you. The Lord is mighty to save!!! :)
Holy Father, I come to you tonight lifting up Andy for your healing hands Lord.
Please consider the pleas of your humble servnat Lord. I ask for your mercy and strength now Lord. Please heal Andy's vision Lord. Please provide the doctors wisdom and discernment in this affliction. Make them effective in the healing process if your will is not to heal this condition by yourself Lord. Please provide strength and faith for the family and especially Andy. Lord give this young man strength to do as your will requires. If healing is not your will Lord, please do not let this harden his heart, or his family's heart against you, but let this event and the coming days of Andy's life be a magnificent statement and tribute to your Glory Lord.
In Jesus Christ's name I pray this prayer Lord. Please let my humble prayer be sweet smelling incense to your nose and a pleasant sounding request to your ears oh Lord. Thank you Jesus for yor victory at Calvary.
Amen.

Sarah, the most important thing in your child's life is the love of the people around him. Make him understand that love is unwavering and that he will prevail in life because of that love.
